Has anyone here actually had electrostatic painting done on metal surfaces? I’m considering it for some metal railings and machinery casings at one of our facilities. I’ve read a few articles and watched some videos, but most of them are super generic. I’d love to hear real experiences — does it hold up long-term? How does it compare to standard spray painting in terms of durability and finish?

Yeah, Mason, we actually went with electrostatic painting for all our metal warehouse shelving and a few pieces of heavy equipment that constantly get bumped and scraped. I’ll be honest — it’s way more efficient than I expected. The paint clings incredibly well to the surface, almost like it's magnetized, so there's way less overspray or waste. What really sold me was how smooth and even the finish turned out. It dried fast too, which saved us downtime. We used a line painting company out of Ontario that offers this service, and they really knew what they were doing — line painting companythey even explained how the positive-negative charge system works. Six months in and not a single chip or peel. Totally recommend it for metal, especially if you’re dealing with wear-and-tear environments.

I’ve been looking into coating options for a metal staircase outside our office and wasn’t sure if electrostatic was just a fancy term. Sounds like it’s actually practical in the right setting.
