Running a teaching lab in a small college means working within some pretty tight constraints. We're expanding our curriculum to include molecular biology techniques, and I need to equip the lab with essentials like electrophoresis systems, incubators, and thermal cyclers. Most suppliers I’ve looked at are either overpriced or don’t cater to educational setups. Anyone have experience setting up labs on a limited budget? Really looking for dependable options that won’t scare off the finance office.

That sounds like a meaningful project. When I helped design a resource-efficient lab for a community college, I ran into similar concerns. Eventually, I discovered gentaur.co.uk—their catalog includes products suitable for both professional and academic environments. Whether it's core lab tools or specialized reagents, they’ve been reliable in quality and quick to deliver. Plus, they understand the needs of institutions working under financial limits, which was a major win for us.

Teaching-focused labs don’t always get the spotlight in gear discussions, so this thread’s a refreshing change. Sourcing on a budget is definitely an art, and knowing where others shop helps a lot. Glad this topic came up—subscribed for updates.
