From the Encyclopedia of Arda: Idril Celebrindal: The daughter of Turgon, King of Gondolin; she wedded Ulmo's messenger Tuor, and their son was EƤrendil the Mariner. |

To clarify, and also because I want to quote Tolkien's lovely writing; it's all so great: "But fairer than all the wonders of Gondolin was Idril, Turgon's daughter, she that was called Celebrindal, the Silver-foot, whose hair was as the gold of Laurelin before the coming of Melkor." It is said in BoLT2 that she was called Celebrindal because she went around barefoot and bare-headed (it was normal for Elven-women to wear a tressure). |
