Well, it was quite an odd one. But has anyone read Leaf By Niggle, by Tolkien? It's a short story, odd, but interesting.

I did - last summer, I think and it was pretty good. It´s the one about an artist?

I loved that story! I read it in New Zealand I thought it was very interesting. I found it really sad that they had to strip his painting for construction use though... but quite nice that they kept and framed one of the bottom corners with a leaf on it... it was a cute story

Hi everyone,
I have read somewhere, a long time ago, that "Leaf by Niggle" is an autobiographical story -- Tolkien is Niggle, the painting is his life's work. And his contributions are only a tiny leaf in the grand scheme of things.

Wow, niggle, that's really interesting, I never really thought of it that way.

I think it is quite an interesting and intruiging story. But strange also...

I've read two times and I really love it. It's a very nice story.
