Suilaid my friends! I was just wondering if you guys could answer some of my ten questions.

How many people named Hama have died at Helm's Deep?

Which King of Rohan had the longest reign?

What type of animal slew Folca?

Helmingas come from where in Rohan?

How did Eorl refer to the horse that slew his father?

Who was the last King of the Second Line?

Who slew Scatha the great worm?

What name was used to refer to the Vala Orome?

What is the main tower of Helm's Deep?

What was Rohan named when it was owned by the Men of Gondor?

Please Help Me Out...

Welcome to the Forum Anarhil!

1. I believe only one person named Hama was slain, although I say this because it was the only Hama mentioned (I think)

2. Aldor the Old reigned over the Rohirrim the longest, however Eomer reigned second longest.

3. I may be wrong, but I believe it was a great boar that slew Folca while hunting it.

4. Well, when Gamling says 'Helm! Helm! Forth Helmingas!' and it is revealed in the next sentence that they are Men of the Westfold, I think what this means is that they are merely Men defending Helms Deep.(Though Helm's Deep is in the Westfold, so...)

5. I'll be honest-I don't know.

6. The last King of the second line was Theoden.

7. I'm not sure who slew Scatha, but I do know that Eorl brought a horn crafted by the Dwarves from his hoard, which means someone before Eorl's time must have slain him.

8. Um, well, I suppose Orome was reffered to as Orome? Although maybe Araw (a name for Orome, used in 'the wild kine of Araw' that is the wild oxen about the inland Sea of Rhun)

9. The 'main tower'? I suppose your reffering to the Hornburg?

10. And before it was named Rohan when the Northmen settled in it, it was once Calenardhon (which means Green Province). All this and more can be found in the LotR and its Appendicies. Hope I was a help! ^_^

8. Orome was also known as Aldaron, Araw, Béma, and Tauron.

5. This is what I know about Eorl's father's horse, Felarof.
"Eorl's father Léod was a tamer of horses among the Éothéod, who captured this wild white horse while it was still a foal. He tried to tame it himself, but when he attempted to mount it, it threw him and escaped. So Léod died, leaving a sixteen-year-old son, Eorl. Eorl hunted the white horse, found it, and demanded that it give up its freedom in payment for the death of his father. The horse agreed, and took the name that Eorl gave it: Felaróf, a name said to mean 'very valiant' or 'very strong'." - THe Encyclopedia of Arda.

3. Folca was slain by the Boar of Everholt.

7. Fram son of Frumgar slew the worm in the early days of the Éothéod.

I tried to answer those questions you weren't sure of Erethror, and i used the Encyclopedia of Arda (http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/) if you want more information Anarhil.

Hope i helped!

Lol, I'll do my best to answer some of these questions.

How many people named Hama have died at Helm's Deep?
I do believe there is only one person by the name of Háma at Helms Deep. He was the captain of the kings gaurd and Theodens doorward.

Which King of Rohan had the longest reign?
Aldor the Old

What type of animal slew Folca?
Don't know what actually wounded and killed Folca, but I do know he was hunting the Boar of Everholt.

How did Eorl refer to the horse that slew his father?
All I know is that Eorl gave the horse the name Feralof.

Who was the last King of the Second Line?
King Theoden

Who slew Scatha the great worm?
Fram son of Frumgar

What name was used to refer to the Vala Orome?
Oromë had several names including: The Huntsmen of the Valar, Aldaron, Araw, Béma, and Tauron.

What is the main tower of Helm's Deep?
The Hornburg, don't know know if that's what you mean though.

What was Rohan named when it was owned by the Men of Gondor?
Green Province, but I think it had another name too.

Hope this helps you out! :)
