Beregond, Bergil, Fatty, and Glorfindel are esp. good characters. Fatty I consider quite brave--he stayed behind as a decoy, after all!
Glorfindel isn't mentioned much by Tolkien either, but we know he has more power than most elves, and he is a great guy, that's for sure!
Beregond and Bergil? Nice duo. I esp. think I missed little Begil. He and Pippin made a great pair in the books, kind of taking the place of Merry for poor Pip while in M.T.

It's a shame the story is so complex and the film so short... I quite liked Tom Bombadill... and Glorfindel. Without them the story seems a little hollow. In the end it's the details that count.

I was a little bit disappointed that they weren't included in the movies, because they do add so much to the story. I'm particularly interested in Glorfindel and Fatty Bolger.

But I guess leaving them out of the movie was for the best, because it saved time and money.

Yes I know... but I think it would be great if they could have made the movies a bit longer so that they could have added some more details...

Lol, do I ever agree... but that probably would've made the movies about 4 + hours longer... each. :P
That would probably mean that very few people, except for the obsessed fans would see them... hehehe.

Of the characters listed, I'd most like Glorfindel in the movies... Beregond and Bergil next.
Tom, well... if they could get him right. Something tells me that the character of Bombadil would be very difficult to portray onscreen without seeming... well, Disney-ish.

I'd rather have no Tom at all than have that kind.

*agrees* I think it was good that they left Tom out, it would have been very difficult to get him right I think... I know the movies would have been to long.. another idea could be to make one movie for each book (so 6 movies) but I think that this would have been strange as well, because you would miss so many characters for a whole movie... I don't know I can't think of a really good solution for this problem...

I know that putting all those characters into the movies wasn't practical, but I sure would have loved to have seen them in real life. Bonus=More actors to swoon over :swoon: :D

Aww, I love fatty, most likely the one one I'll be missing. I don't care too much for the others exept maybe Glorfindel.

yes, i was particularly dissapointed in missing Fatty, Glorfy, and Tom Bombadil.

Fatty was brave in his own way, and I really did like his character. Glorfindel, well, how do you NOT miss ol'Glorfy?
And Tom Bombadil, his charcter quite stuck to me. Such an extraordinary character,I really missed him in the movie.

But after all, we all know why all of these couldn't have been included.

I really miss Tom Bombadil!! And yes, I know that the movie was really incredibly long anyway and that adding on more characters would just be too much, but I really wouldn't have minded if the movie was longer! In fact, I think it's too short 'cause whenever I watch it, I don't want it to end!
