Title explains all, what's your favourite race/culture in Tolkien's Middle-Earth?

I have two, first the Elves, because there is so much about them that we do not know. They are mysterious, and perfect in all ways. They are also the closest to the human race, which makes me feel a lot closer to them than others.

Next is the Ents. They too have many mysteries hanging about them, as to where the Entwives went, how they became so dormant etc. I also loved reading about how the Elves taught the trees to walk and talk in the Silm, it gives me a lovely visual image.

Hobbits. Gotta love 'em. It seems like there's all this mystery surrounding the elves and Maiar and Valar and even Men and definetely Ents, and there Hobbits are in the middle of it all with their pipeweed and hobbit-holes. They're so little and sweet, I love them :)

wow you exactly explained what I like about hobbits :), but as I already said I also love many other cultures... the Rohirric with their horses and sooo beautiful landscape.. awesome, or the elves, sooo beautiful, skilled and experienced and there are so many different kinds of elves and they're just great and of course the Valar/Maiar who made everything good on earth (plants, animals and all that) and who are so powerful and yet also care for every little thing on earth and did so much for Arda :)

I have always loved the Elves. They are just so regal and beautiful, everything about them fascinates me! If I could go anywhere or meet anyone in Middle Earth, you can bet it will have to do with the Elves!

My favourite race/culture in Middle Earth are the elves. They're just so mysterious, graceful and have so much history.

The Gondorians for the beauty and history of their civilization. They have Numenorian blood in them. There's elven influence. A race that is filled with richness of the best kind. :)

Gondor! Gondor! Between the mountains and the sea! O Proud walls! White Tower! O winged crown and throne of gold!

Second favorite is Hobbit, for their simplicity and contentedness.

btw, the point about Denethor was that he left the ways of his forfathers, he fell. Faramir overcame. Showed the strength that's within his people.

Gotta say that I'm a fan of the hobbits. Just because they are so simple and peaceful, but then you never know what to expect from them! I guess it's similar to Gandalf's fascination with hobbits. It would just be so fun to be a hobbit!

Hmm when it comes to Elves I like mostly, of the Elves that came to Aman the Vanyar, and of the Elves that stayed in Middle-Earth indefinately the Laiquendi (green Elves of Ossiriand) and Nandor (so the Silvan or wild Elves of Mirkwood-they represent Elves to me. Carefree wood spirits, laughing, singing, hunting, feasting-all under the boughs of an ancient forest. Not like the lamenting, warlike elves of Lothlorien).

But besides the Silvan Elves, I really like the Rohirrim (from the days of the 'Kingdom' of Rhovanion, to the days in the Vales of the Anduin, to the days betwixt the Langwell and Greylin, to the days and beyond of the Rohirric culture proper). And the Beornings (supposing they lived much like Beorn). Mostly because of their real-life cousins the Germanic people's of Northern Europe. But even then because of their way of life, and system of beliefs.

But I also have a place in my heart for Hobbits, and who doesn't? ^^ Those carefree peasants, eating and smoking. Living in holes...I wouldn't mind living in a hobbit-hole! The way they are described in the Hobbit.

...such a difficult question...
..but on second thought..most likely the Elves, why?
..they are a noble race of extremely high standards, they expect so much of themselves, and yet they have weaknesses and frailties, just like the rest of us..they show humility, with honor..
