Yes, I am sure most of the e-mails were old and not in use any more. Too bad, but ah well.
Yeah, there are other LOTR forums that are still quite active. It's nice, I just wish this one would have kept up with things as well.

Hmm... looks like some stuff was lost when the board went down. I had a post here before. Oh well.
I saw there is a small hive of activity on the main page 'c-box' every day with a few people.

Yup, apparently so. Hm... interesting. They might have just restored it to a previous date and time prior to the issue perhaps? (Not for sure on how that all works)
Yes, tag still has several who frequent it. Unfortunately the tag users don't seem to prefer the forum or want to participate much or at all. Not sure why. Galadareth, whom I am in my one RP with was a tag users for years and had never been on the forum. I asked in tag if anyone wanted to do an RP on the forum and she reaponded and joined but other than that I have had no luck getting any of them to join. I have not really pressed the issue hard, but have asked a time or two.
Perhaps if we posted in Tag advertising an RP? I guess a couple might consider joining.

'Tag' looks like kids with short attention spans, but I could be wrong.
The site likely had to be restored from a daily backup, so anything posted after that particular backup was lost.

Well, there are some people on tag who have been coming here for as long as I have been around. Several just seem to prefer tag over the forum. I guess the same or similar as people preferring facebook? *shrugs*
Yeah, that would make sense on the site backup.

Exactly. That's what I don't like about it. You can't save anything from tag or go back to review and all that like you can on a forum.

I've been sort of semi-actively advertising this place around the internet... putting it in my siggy on sites and such. It is kinda like a roadsign. Most ignore it, but a few will notice. And yes, I am not above poaching. Hopefully we can keep some renewed life going here!

As August 2017 comes to an end, I think it is safe to say this site has been for the most part left to go dormant. I get why. The great project of the early 2000s is now something that doesn't warrant the time and effort in life to maintain. Life goes on. I will just say thank you to you who keeps this place going in absentia.

I’ll second that, Hanasían.  One thing that puzzles me is the number of “guests”, shown here at the bottom of the Board Index. Right now there are supposed to 79 of them, and added to that 1 hidden (or bot). CoE also shows double-digit numbers of guests, but mostly in the 20s, 30s or 40s. Are these real people, or have the bots gotten better at disguising themselves? From what I’ve read about the ability of Internet-savvy people being able to create multiple users to screw up a Wikipedia entry with gratuitous objections, and some (bloody mercenaries!) even doing it for money from interested obfuscators, I’m kind of a paranoid cynic about the Internet. _________________

I assume you’re going by the calendar of Imladris, where Mettarë has to do with spring (but yours would be a Far Harad spring  ). We Old Middle-earthers would likely rather use the Dúnedain calendar, but as Mettarë there is in mid-winter, it’s stll a way off. _________________

Dunedain has the festival at winter solstice, and I'm just planning ahead.
From Encyclopedia of Arda: Quote: The last day of the year; to the Elves, whose calendar started in spring, this was modern 27 March, but to the Dúnedain in Middle-earth, Mettarë fell in winter, on modern 21 December.
