Post subject:  LotR Scripts - Help us out!

I've been in the process of putting up the scripts on the main site, but, well....there are three movies and 11+ hours of transcription to be done, so help is helpful! :) I've currently been uploading them by scene (so that they can be shown before I finish the entire movie). However, I'm still only in the beginning of Fellowship. This is where you can come in, because more people = more movie covered.

If you want to help:
---Look at what is up here and follow the same sort of format:
[brackets] around the action - limited description on the action
bold and colon for the speaker
    space between each line
---It is immensely helpful if you put that coding in yourself. If you don't know anything about coding, this is all you need:
Code:
<br> is like your "enter", <br><br> at the end of a line will give it the double spacing you want
<b> things in here become bolded </b>

---You can type it up on any sort of word processor: microsoft word, notepad, text edit, and so forth.
---Keep them clearly marked by chapter. I use the gallery chapters to easily keep them straight and consistent.
---If you are going to work on this, you MUST post here stating what chapter you are starting with and you MUST keep that post up to date with what chapters you have done.
this ensures that a larger group of people can work without covering the same ground
if you find you don't have the time/inclination to do it anymore, please please please let us know so that we can hand it off somewhere else
---do not start at any point before "The Ring Goes South" (or else we will be covering the same ground and that is just depressing)

Once you have at least a full chapter, PM me. We will then be able to coordinate passing it off so that I can put it up on the site.

:-o Yup, that's a lot of stuff but it's FUN because you get to sit and watch LotR!

I'd like to help you, at least untill uni absorbes too much of my time again :) Any excuse to watch LOTR is a good one!

I'll start with the Pass of Caradhras, so we won't be covering double ground. Just one question, are the scripts based on the normal or the Extended edition?

Finished scripts:
the Pass of Caradhras
Moria
A Journey in the Dark

Yay thank you! I'm doing the extended edition. I'm still figuring out if I want to make note of which parts are the EE, but I figure that can wait a while too.

Okay, then I'll use the EE as well :) I'll PM you when I've finished "The Pass of Caradhras".

Just a thought, I compiled scripts for my own website, and I found them on a different website that had movie scripts and such, from every single movie imaginable--wouldn't it be better to just use those, or would that be a use of copyright infringement? :confused2:

I know we'd discussed in the past just linking to other websites, but it's so nice to have ours, if you know what I mean. I don't like the idea of directly copying from another website because it feels like stealing all their work. So it is either link or type it up ourselves. Linking takes people away from AU, which is exactly what we don't want. ;)
