No probs.

But god I should stop procrastinating writing my final essay for this lit course. :erm:

I can't find a lot of info, so is it okay if I half-finish it and whoever wants to can finish it for me? Because now that I think of it, the bios are really good, and I'm not a really good writer, to tell the truth... so yeah. And I don't want a really awesome character to have a really lame, stinky bio.

I've also looked at information for the various Dwarves, and there really isn't mucht to go on! So don't worry about having a short bio ;-)

EDIT: JF, it might take a while before I finish Thranduil's bio. Apparently I need to dig around in the Sil to fill in some missing pieces on his story and that will take time.

That's fine Lhun. Take your time. :-)

I am so happy that this part of the site is finally getting some attention, one a week would be good. :teehee:

I started working on the bios pages last night, and currently Thorin and Radagast are up if you want to check out your work.

Oh that looks very pretty, and a whole lot better than my Word document-version!

While looking through the LotR-bios I noticed a typo in Aragorn's bio: It says his mother was Gilaren, but I think it should be Gilraen ;-)

ERMAHGERD, ALL THE EMOTIONS! *has a lot of feelings*

Looks awesome! I have one final essay to get through (and start, ahum) and then I'm completely responsibility free until October when my studies start in Tokyo. So basically, what this girl be sayin', once I'm done with this course in literature I'm at your service for bio's and anything else you might need.

Every day.

All day.

ALL. DAY.

@ Lhun - well spotted. ;) That's actually a typo from Arweb's days, so you're the first person to have noticed that in all these years!

@ bellatrix - :punk:

That sounds like good news to me. I'm pretty sure we can always find something for you to do regarding the revival. :p

So all the bios you guys have currently given me are up. So I'm going to copy over the bios from the LotR section tomorrow, but changing each character image for a Hobbity one.

Well, I'm still working on Thranduil but I think I'll also start on some Dwarf bios. Since there is not much to be found about them that shouldn't take too long ;-) I'll start with Dwalin and Balin, and I hope to finish theirs by Monday.

EDIT: I just PMed you the bios for Balin and Dwalin JF!

I've just gained possession of the Hobbit so I'll be working on Kili's bio! It'll be done soon.

I'm now alone again, and all the stress of the literature course is done. So now I'm all open and good to go again!

I'll be finishing up Gloin this weekend, and then I'll work on Bard, and then Oin and Ori. Goal is to be done by Monday. Just a little update! :)

Thanks a lot for the update guys. I look forward to adding your bios.

@ aralas - don't forget you can also use the internet to try and find any information you think you may need. I know that some bios are hard to write based on the information contained in the Hobbit. :-)

@ Bellatrix - sorry Ian Malcolm is mine. :P

Thanks for the tip JF :D
And sorry for the delay...
I feel bad when I imagine all the fans who visit the bios and they click Kili and nothing shows up :frust:
Sowwy..
But I'm getting it done :D

EDIT: No offense to anyone but I was looking at the AU Hobbit bios and stuff for examples  and there was a typo. In Balin's bio it says Siblings: brother, Balin. And in Dwalin and Balin's bio, I thought Dwalin and Balin are supposed to play viols, not violins. (Agh, why does this sound mean?)

I'll fight you over him, to the death if I need. :karate: :karate: :karate: :karate:
Or just until someone gets a black eye. That works too.

But still. Weapons up!

I need to stop being so tired so I can actually get a crackin'. But I *just* finished my course yesterday so I guess it's forgivable.

THANK YOU!

I meant to change the the whole brother thing, that was totally my fault, I was copying and pasting the bios and I knew I had to change that, so thank you for pointing that out.

I think viola was in the original bio sent to me, but I'm not sure. I'll check to see if violin is correct and I'll change it if so.

I'm always happy to have errors pointed out, especially as more than likely it's my fault. :P

^ I'll need to bring more fish for this. :fish:

It's OK. Take your time. As I've said, we've been needing this bios for so long now, a bit more time won't hurt. :teehee:

This was actually my fault JF! I did write Dwalin down as Balin's brother, or at least I did in the documents I have on my PC, so maybe there was a slip up while I copied them to a PM. And I also wrote "violins" instead of "viols", but I think that must have been a typo as I now know there a big difference between the two instruments. According to the book it should be viols. And thanks for pointing it out aralas, it's so easy to make little errors :p

Post subject:  Re: Hobbit Character Bios Overview

I spotted a false translation/typo in the LotR character bios (not like looking around for anything, I just saw it) Celeborn means 'silver-tree' not Silver-tall.

Author:  Anameleth [ July 12th, 2013, 8:39 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Hobbit Character Bios Overview

^I was almost certain that it said somewhere that Celeborn means 'silver-tall', so I looked it up, and it turns out you're right. The name index in Silmarillion lists Celeborn with the translation 'tree of silver'. I've still got a feeling I've read somewhere (other than on A-U, and I think in a book) that it means 'silver-tall' though. Does anyone know if it says that somewhere?
