WetaNZ's "The Hobbit" web site is hosting a live webchat with "Hobbit" producer, Peter Jackson, and director, Guillermo del Toro sometime today US/Canada/UK time [tomorrow, the 25th, Aussie time]. Fans will not be able to chat with them directly, but they will be able to send in questions and concerns they may have about the film ahead of time. 20 of the most commonly asked questions will
be answered.
I just registered and have sent in a barrage of questions. You can register and post questions at -- http://www.wetanz.com/party

Ok the chat is over now... We know we can expect the release for December 2011 and December 2012, we know Gollum will be played by Andy again, Ian McKellen will be Gandy, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens should write the script again along with PJ and GDT, and Howard Shore is back for the music....
Pretty good news so far!

I am really happy with the director that was chosen actually. I am exctied that he will be trying to keep on somewhat of the same plain that PJ did.

Well, I must say I'm pretty pleased with the things that have been said. I feel relieved now to be honest.
Seems I won't have to worry that much

things are looking good....they're going in the right direction and the more i read and the more we know, i feel better and more confident that it'll all be a success.....
one thing that's just hit my concern is "riddles in the dark" i really hope that it stays true to the book...i mean, you never know what they may decide to do....i mean...i think it's doubtful that it'll be changed because it is a big part of the book...but it's still got me alittle worried...riddles in the dark is probably my fav. chapter. i just want it to stay. no riddles cut or added or changed or anything.

I don't think they won't change the riddles in the dark chapter a lot, because it's such a central part of the book and essential also for the understanding of LotR

Ooooh, this all sounds really promising.
And I liked the fact that the Hobbit is set in an age when everything was more peaceful and less dark, so I'm glad they aren't openly planning on making it as dark as LOTR. I personally, think it would be wonderful to see the Elves in a lighter and happier mood (I'm not saying I want the tra-la-laing song but certainly another song perhaps) and then we can appreciate the change when we come to FOTR.
