TORN revealed Cate Blanchett is back as Galadriel. Do you like this? Wish she'd been re-cast? Other thoughts?

When I first saw the movies I wasn't so sure about the character of Galadriel, but over the years I have grown fond of her and could not think of anyone else to play Galadriel. Cate Blanchett has the regal demeanor that is needed to play Queen of Lothlorien :)

I think Cate Blanchette had the potential to be the perfect Galadriel. I have some quibbles with how they portrayed her in the movies (most notably in the Mirror scene), but if they're going to put the character in the Hobbit, I wouldn't want anybody else. :D

I'm glad it's confirmed!

Agreed Minuial! If nothing else, the continuity of Cate as Galadriel would be great for filmmakers purposes. And given the promotional aspect, a big name like her returning in a role is just phenomenal.

Movie-wise, I can't imagine anyone else doing it.

I agree about continuity. Especially since she's an elf and it's such a short time before, she wouldn't look any different. Plus she's a great actress. Though I must admit I'm curious how someone else would've played her.

I very much agree on this. I'm not overjoyed with FotR Galadriel.. I liked her better later on.

It would definitely be interesting to see another actress portraying Galadriel. I LOVE Cateh Blanchett as an actress so I'm happy she is in onboard on the Hobbit but had they chosen someone else I might have been alright with it too. It's funny now when I'm trying to wring my brain I can't think of any other actress who would fit the part... Cate is very much Galadriel to me now!! :P

I would like to agree with most of the statements above. When I discovered Cate was coming back as Galadriel, I was thrilled. The correct word was demeanor - she definitely has it: soft-spoken but strong, fair, and timeless.
