I saw it! It is wonderful! Overall, I think it is excellent and that the movie will be great. :) I know there will be stuff in it that is not canon and such but I know PJ did a wonderful job with LOTR so I trust him with this! :D

I do like how he is really tying in stuff with LOTR! love the scene with the broken sword.

I watched it. :P That was short-lived--I kept my promise to myself for what, five minutes? I have no self control.

But having said that, OH MY GOSH THEY HAVE IT ABSOLUTELY PERFECT AND THERE IS PROBABLY NO POSSIBLE WAY IT COULD BE ANY BETTER. I loved the scene with Narsil, and the singing of the Lonely Mountain song, and the two-second part with my lover Frodo (XD) and...everything! Peter Jackson, my friend, you have done it again.

I am trying so hard not to squeal. Because I am sitting at the table and my parents are three feet away in the living room. BUT OH MAN. It's so beautiful. And Martin Freeman is perfect. And Frodo! And Gandalf! And the SHIRE all back and lovely! And Gollum! And Rivendell! And Gandalf doing stuff! And oh my gosh. I keep getting excited again (this is not helped by the fact that I'm browsing Tumblr at the same time) and having to clap my hand over my mouth and I'm basically shaking and squealing internally and am no longer coherent.

I DID squeal. Thankfully my family was so absorbed in watching an SNL rerun that they didn't hear me. And then I ran in literally screaming and shaking and yelling, "I COULDN'T DO IT, I COULDN'T HOLD OUT, I WATCHED IT BEFORE I SAID I WOULD BUT I REGRET NOTHING BECAUSE IT IS PERFECT, MOM, IT'S SO FREAKING PERFECT THAT YOU HAVE TO COME WATCH IT WITH ME RIGHT NOW BECAUSE IT'S JUST LIKE IMAGINED IT THE FIRST TIME THAT YOU READ IT TO ME!" And they just sort of shook their heads at me.

I have since watched it twice more. Also, 'The Hobbit', 'Peter Jackson', and 'LOTR' are all currently trending topics on twitter. I love tonight. ^__________^

*goes to watch it again*

I've been keeping clear of any Hobbit news as I don't want to know. I've looked at the pictures, but I'm not reading anything and I haven't seen the production diaries.

Can I just say...... Gandalf & Galadriel finally getting a scene together is probably the most epic thing I've seen in a long time. I WANT A POSTER OF THAT SCENE!!!!

Yeah, that Galadriel/Gandalf scene looks pretty epic. And I think I glimpsed Elladan and Elrohir around 1:51 or so...maybe.

And JF, I agree. I've only seen the first production diary, and the trailer so far. I've been reading articles, but mainly ones that concern Elijah's triumphant return to the role of Frodo. *obsessed* For now, I can live with only the true story onscreen. I can wait til the DVD releases to get my behind-the-scenes fix. :)

Yeah me too. I'd rather wait and then be amazed at how they made this, that and the other. :P

To be honest, I think it's a shame that they are keeping fans so well informed. With the changes in media since the start of shooting for LOTR and the fact that everyone is now waiting for it and knows it's happening (how many people were truly interested in a little country that was attempting to make LOTR?)... I don't know... the publicity has made it lose a little bit of it's magic. Maybe it couldn't have been helped with today's technology and stuff, but I would rather hear and see less, and be amazed even more.

Waiting for it to load. I am not having my rubbish internet connection cut out half way through.

EDIT:

I've watched it.

I will share my thoughts once my friend has resurrected me from the grave because I've just died.
(Or rather it's 5am and I seriously need some sleep. But trailer is now on my iPod so I can watch it as much as possible. )

This was essentially my reaction as well. I'm sitting there on Facebook all like, "La dee da, ooh, what's this? Hobbit trailer?"

/And cue the huge fangirl squeal that scared my mom in the next room/

I literally cannot wait for next December. Can't we just fast forward time? :-(

So good! Especially since I just finished re-reading the hobbit, it's amazing seeing it come life, even if it's only 2 minutes long.

Cannot wait!! I approve very much of everything that was included in the trailer (they showed quite a bit for a teaser trailer!)

P.S. it's showing before TinTin in the US & Canada, but in front of Sherlock Holmes in some other countries (including the UK).

I would rather see it on the big screen, but there's no way I'm going to sit through Tin Tin. Darn it, why don't I live in the UK??

Hravan, your gifs are freakin` epic! :D

I was just floored. I watched it once and was stunned. I watched it twice and started grinning like an idiot. I watched it three times and started jumping up and down. I watched it four times and started dancing around my kitchen. Now I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. :P

I've just watched again, I have squee especially about how gorgeous and perfect the song is. The song is gorgeous. And perfect. :swoon:

My friend saw it today in front of Sherlock Holmes, and we're in the U.S. I'd say its worth a shot!

Yeah! I just saw the link on another page online. Watched it. Of course. The first thing out of my mouth was simply "haha!" It's very well done. The ending was perfect. Had to click "share"!

That's my theory too...

Me personally, I am SO interested in those Gandy/Gladdy scenes... Am pondering the meat of that conversation. I am so ECSTATIC to be seeing Gandalf the GREY again! Words cannot express how giddy with excitement I am for that in itself! But man, have you guys seen the trolling that has gone on at YT? People moaning about the look (attributed to the 48fps of course,) people need to be a bit more faithful and patient... They shall all be turned to stone soon anyways. :)
