yeah well... countdown....

Eeee, I can't wait!!! But one thing I don't like about it is why did they split it into three different movies? The book wasn't that long. But anyway, back to the trailer, I'm super excited for it!! My favorite character is going to be brought into it...Legolas! So two thumbs up for that.

The book may not have been that long, but when actually put into cinematic form (plus with the addition of the White Council) it made sense for it to be longer than just one movie. After all, we only made it halfway through the book by the end of this movie! And yet it moved pretty swiftly from one action to another, not many "just walking along" shots or anything like that. And what with all of Mirkwood, the elves, Laketown, dancing around Smaug, fighting Smaug, the politics between Thorin and Thranduil, and the battle of the Five Armies, there's still a lot to go! (Not to mention the White Council driving out the Necromancer.)

All said and done, I'm very excited for it!

going on a journey through my old claims

OK, I've been on a bit of an anti-Hobbit thing for the past few months. I've decided to get over it now, even though the Xena Warrior Princess Tauriel thing is still really annoying me. I was thinking about this time last year and how excited I was about An Unexpected Journey and that I'd pre-booked tickets in the IMAX cinema (which is an 80 minute train journey (£15 return ticket) from where I live) on the day it was released.
I'm not going to get that same excitement as I had with UJ for DoS because there were a lot of things in UJ which annoyed me and there's the whole Tauriel thing.

But, I need something to look forward to because it's the time of year where I want to hide myself away from the world until the beginning of January because I cannot cope with December (well, it's now November and December seeing as they're starting the rubbish even earlier each year)

Yeah, so I'm not really that happy at the moment. Wish I could re-capture the excitement of last year for UJ but I can't. However, I am pretty good at pretending and I'm going to try to kid myself into looking forward to DoS because I need to have some glimmer of light in this horrible time of the year.
Plus, family members want to see it.

So I've just booked tickets to see it in the local cinema in 3D (no IMAX here) on Saturday 14th. No going to the IMAX for the very first screening like I did last year with UJ.
