yes i have heard of him. oh yeah my friend told me that. you think he'll do a good job if he does direct it?

I have no idea. He did a good job on Spider-man, but The Hobbit is a very different kind of movie. The best option, IMO, is to have PJ doing it, but since that seems unlikely now, Sam Raimi is as good as anyone!

becuase there was a big money issue concerning PJ and new line. PJ didn't spend the money right or something to that matter.

If PJ doesn't direct The Hobbit, I'm going be very, very, skeptical about it's quality. I hope he directs.

i agree. most of the actors are in that too from what i've read and heard. different director, different cast...

I think that it would be confusing for the people who didn't read the book if they had a different cast... "Oh, there are two Bilbos? And two Gandalfs as well?" I honestly think they should stick with the LotR cast from Peter Jackson's films... or at least the cast for the characters that shows up in the Hobbit obviously. And I think we'd all be more comfortable with watching the same familiar cast... I mean, maybe Ian Holm's too old already to play young Bilbo, but Gandalf most definitely wouldn't have aged much or changed appearance between the Hobbit and tLotR.

Sorry if that made no sense whatsoever... I'm a little braindead.

oh it did. but isn't Bilbo already like 50 or older? Ian Holm might be close to that. And in the FotR they made him somehow younger-looking. Bilbo wouldn't be Bilbo without Ian :) i'm sorry but Gandalf is my fav character and if they got another actor to play him other than Ian McKellen then i'm going to not like this movie very much :disgust: But Ian Holm definitely has to be Bilbo or it'll be kinna messed up

AAAAH! Gandalf is your favourite character? *dies*

Wow. That's weird...I think you're the first person I've met that thinks Gandalf is the coolest. That's cool.

Anyway, I'm sure that they could find a way to make Ian Holm look young enough to play Bilbo.

^ Guess you haven't met my dad. :P My dad's favorite character is most decidedly Gandalf... compared to my... 11... favorite characters...

Yeah, I'm sure they could do that with Ian Holm. The question is, would Ian be up for playing him at that age?

^ i've been saying that from the begining....everyone says he's to old but....they were able to make him look younger in the prologue of FOTR.....it hasn't been THAT long ......and it's weta......im sure ....i know they can do it.

and there's also been this thing going around that people are asking other actors who's characters arn't in the hobbit...like legolas and aragorn.....if they would be willing to come back.....idk about any of u... but me personally. i don't think they need to add those characters, they should stick with the story and use only the characters that are already there.
