Yeah, it's the cover story. I found it amusing that the fact that Peter Jackson and New Line are POSSIBLY making up made the front page. Nothing was confirmed in the article, but I guess any glimmer of hope for The Hobbit film makes people excited. I know I was happy to see Gollum gracing the cover of EW.

Well, we can only hope that they'll work out their differences and start planning this movie. I think they'd be making a HUGE mistake to not make it soon, and to even consider choosing a director besides Peter Jackson is ridiculous.

It is not official, I am afraid. Peter Jackson is the executive producer, but there is still a chance he could be the director.
