I'm like that as well. I never used to be as I am known to be hard hearted when it comes to watching supposedly *sad* films. But after LOTR I get upset so easily sometimes it's stpid. There are loads of parts in FOTR that get me upset, sometimes it's even just the music.

I agree. I think that the music is actually one of the biggest influences on the emotions of the film... Im not usually teary in movies, unless they are VERY touching, and all the LOTR movies get to me in a way that no other movie does.

The music played when everyone's crying over Gandalf... OMG... that just tears the heart out and hits you over the head with the soggy end... really sad, and the music where Frodo is standing on the river bank with the ring.

OMG. YES! I think its really the music that gets to me EVERY TIME. With Gandalf AND Frodo. And also in ROTK at Aragorn's coronation.. -sobs- Im such a tragic wreck :P

[holds onto Saira]

We can do this. We can talk about LOTR without drowing in tears. Keep breathting, that's the key. Breathe!

 Hey. Breathing. -breaths-

I think Im really very glad for the revival. -sniffs- It was another thing which was really vewy sad. The whole fading fandom...

Yeah, it is sad. I mean, everytime I watch the films (I just saw FOTR last night), I always try and come to the boards and talk about it. I wish more people would do that. I notice things all the time, that I haven't noticed in 5 years, so there are still plenty of things to discuss.

I watched ROTK recently... And I cried like a baby. And I agree about discussing. There is just so MUCH! I mean... Its insane. Even in the making, and just the movies themselves. But it seems that there is just so many thing people latch themselves onto... So much to distract the attention. -sighs-

Oh, I'll be watching ROTK on Sunday night... man, I'm going to need a whole box of tissues. ROTK is the worst for sadness/happiness. The "you bow to no-one" absolutely sends me howling, I'm getting all teary just thinking about it.

You're right. There is so much to talk about. Most people say there's not much more that can be said, but when you haven't discussed something for 4 years, isn't it time to give it another go?

Definitely! I mean even just re-talking about it... -happy sigh-

I KNOW! Everyone I know teases me because I literally start howling... Its rather amusing to go somewhere and have all my boarding school buddies, and when we say goodbye and I usually end up crying, they always go, "Come on. Its NOT LOTR. We'll se eachother again." :P

But thats the trouble... You know you wont. People change... And then well its not the same person you said goodbye to.

Yeah. I know what you mean. Even though me and my brother don't talk about LOTR as much as we used to, whenever we watch them again, there are always questions, opinions etc. It's never like... Ok, we've seen it now.... there is always things to talk about.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. :P I usually shove a cushion down my mouth so it's not so audible. TTT is quite bad as well, the March of the Ents always gets me.... it's so sad that these beings are willingly going to their deaths, it's just the ultimate sacrafice for the greater good.

I've cried because I realized how much Aragorn meant to Arwen. I had tears streaming down my face. I also cried during "The Tales that Really Matter", which is my favorite scene. I don't think you're really sensitive, I'm just not as sensitive as you.

A truly great film has the ability to reach deep down into our soul and touches our hearts. We become involved with the characters and we feel and experience what they feel and experience. In this case, we also have the books as well, so we really know these characters and thus we are, shall we say, more than involved with this film. Yes, I cry EVERY time at the end of FOTR, which is all I will address here as I believe that was the original question. If you wish to know exactly how touched I am by this film and by the musical score, I have also cried when the music "The Breaking of the Fellowship" has been performed by the LOTR Symphonies, which I've had the privilege of attending 4 times. And I mean tears streaming and dripping off of my face! Am I ashamed? Not one bit! It's a beautiful film married with a beautiful muscial score which pulls one's heart out of one's chest! And I love it!!!
