I have seen it either way. Because both Galadriel and Elrond help them out in magnificent ways. it kinda makes sence and it kinda doesn't. what are your thoughts?

The actual Fellowship consisted of only the nine who were appointed in Rivendell - Elrond wasn't kidding when he said that they shall be the Fellowship of the Ring....in the book, he specifically says that there should be nine members of the Fellowship to account for the nine Nazgul - so the Fellowship is definately only the nine appointed.

Yeah agree with Aerandir. Neither Elrond nor Galadriel was the part of the fellowship

I agree too!

Although Galadriel and Elrond were indeed, a great aid to the others.

I guess it's a question of semantics. You're correct there are nine members of the fellowship, but were they to hold a convention, I would certainly invite Elrond and Galadriel.

yes they are. the actuall fellowship is the nine: Legolas aragorn gandalf pippin gimli frodo merry sam and boromir. because they volunteered to go on the actual trip and take it through dangerous places to the point where it was almost retrieved by the enemy. elrond and galadriel helped, but in my opinion, i think that those nine are the only ones that could be officially named a part of the fellowship of the ring. :bounce:

I would say "No"

The official Fellowship contained 9 members. In the book and in the Movie. So that would leave Elrond and Galadriel out.

But on the other side, they really have been great help to the Ringbearer and the Fellowship. But they're not really part of it, just helpers...

They aren't really part of the Fellowship because they don't travel with Frodo. They help him, but they don't really protect him.

I agree! Elrond and Galadriel are not part of the Fellowship. Because they do not go on the actual journey with the others to destroy the ring. But they do help though.

I agree. Galadriel and Elrond are not part of the nine. They did help the Fellowship a lot though.
