Post subject:  Embarassing Confession

So I was watching FOTR last night with my brother, and I usually notice little things that I've missed previously, which only adds to viewing pleasure, if you notice new things each time, but last night I noticed something for the first time... which is quite.. er.. yeah... :confused2:

The scene where Frodo is lying ill, and Arwen appears to him, talking to him, and it's all glowy and everything, and then the scene changes to her bending down over him with Aragorn.... I only noticed that she's wearing different clothes, and that even her hair is different. My brother said that's because the first scene where her hair is all flowing and she' wearing a white gown, is how Frodo would expect an Elf maiden to look, and then the reality is she's in riding gear.... yeah. What's worse is I've even made banners from those scenes and I've never noticed that. :duh:

HA HA HA HA HA!

AWWW, teh poor JF! :P I suppose you were always too caught up in the moment and Liv's beauty to realize Frodo was hallucinating. XD

I second what Smeag said, we all still love you. :P I always notice new things when I watch something multiple times. And sometimes I miss REALLY obvious things. :duh: So you're not alone. :P

It took me some time to notice too... Like MoBo says.. too much of Liv's elven beauty.. so much light, sooo shiny!! And lo and behold, the angel speaks Elvish, squeee!!

I love that scene! Uhh, I love all Arwen's scenes in FotR! :P

The movies - and Liv Tyler's portrait of Arwen - turned me into a movie-Arwen fan!

JF - if it makes you feel any better, i didn't notice that arwen was wearing different clothes until somebody pointed it out to me. i think i was too busy whinging that arwen shouldn't even have been there to pay any attention to what she was wearing.

Yes, yes that was it. I was stunned and spellbound and... blinded by her absolute beauty I failed to notice.  I'm a big sucker for glowy lights and pretty Elf maidens.

*ahem*

It does make me feel better to know I'm not the only one. :P

LOLOL aww poor Gim
See, at least you were too immersed into the film to notice, which is a good thing! The first time I watched the film, I was with people and I was actually annoyed because I didn't want to see it (I thought all adaptations were bull)... so I spent the whole duration of the film pointing out everything that didn't seem to go or all the errors that I found ("that Orc's supposed to be dead, he's twitching!!"). And Arwen's gown thing was among the things I complained about :duh:
But er yeah I agree with all of the above... I'd actually rather I didn't notice :teehee:

I noticed that, but then being critical as I am I am ALWAYS looking for things in movies where they "messed up"

I figured that scene was simply that way because Frodo was "drugged" for all intensive purposes. lol

*shrugs*

I wouldn't say 'drugged', but probably hallucinating.

I'm sure glad I am not alone in missing this. Although to be fair to us who did, it wasn't a great but honking thing to notice.... that's what I'm saying anyway. :P
