My favorite:

Gimli: Dwarf doors are invisible when closed.
Gandalf: Yes Gimli, even their own masters cannot find them if their secrets are forgotten.
Legolas: Why doesn't that surprise me...?
Gimli: :grr:

"A dwarf breathes so loudly you could shoot him in the dark." ((Haldir))

*sigh* That is the best line EVER!

Like others here I love so many lines, but here lately the exchange between Lady Galadriel & Frodo at her mirror has become my favorite as it is just so mystical...

Lady Galdriel: Will you look into the mirror?
Frodo: What shall I see?
Lady galadriel: "Even the wisest cannot tell. For the mirror…shows many things...
things that were… things that are… and some things…that have not yet come to pass."

of course there is more said here but I really love the first part I posted.

Galadriel: "For the time will come when Hobbits will shape the fortunes of all."
-"Even the smallest person can change th course of the future."

Boromir: "Then we are here on a common purpose...friend."
"I would have followed you, my brother, my captain, my king!"

Pippin: (They just fell off the cliff and he looks up and sees a pile of dung inches away from his face) "That was close!"
Merry: "I think I've broken something!" (Pulls out a carrot)

Gandalf: "Is it secret? Is it safe?"
"There is only one lord of the ring, and he does not share power!"

Gimli: "A single hair from her golden head...she gave me three."

I obviously can't choose my favorite line since they are all great!

My favourite line is:

"I made a promise Mr. Frodo, a promise, don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee and I don't mean to, I don't mean to"

This touches my heart deeply

That's very nice, Morgana! :)
Oh, i have many favourite lines! Two of them is on my sig. I also love these:
Merry: You're taller!
Pippin: Who?
Merry: You!
Pippin: Than who?
Merry: Than me!
Pippin: Oh, i've allways been the taller.
Merry: Pippin, everyone knows, i'm the taller, you're the shorter!

Legolas: (drinking and looking at his fingers) I feel something in my fingers! I think it's affecting me...
Gimli: (laughing)I told you, drinking isn't good for elves!

Frodo:My dear Sam, you cannot allways be torn in two. You'll have to be one and whole for many years. You have so much to enjoy, and to be, amd to do. Your part in this journey will go on...

Gandalf: I will not say "do not weep", because not all tears are an evil...

Frodo: We set out to save the Shire, Sam, and we did... but not for me...

Frodo: Remember what Bilbo used to say: "It is a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no way of knowing where it might take you..."

Sam: It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. (he watches a Nazgul fly away) Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end.....because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was...... when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing...... this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you......that meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now.Folk in those stories......had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going......because they were holding on to something.
Frodo: What are we holding on to, Sam?
Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for.

arrgh i have to many
bilbo:Thank you my boy...Thank you my boy...I'm very selfish, you know. Yes, I am. Very selfish… I don't know why I took you in after your mother and father died, but it wasn't out of charity. I think it was because, of all my numerous relations, you were the one that showed real… spirit
frodo:Bilbo, have you been at the Gaffer's home brew?
bilbo:No. Well, yes. But that's — that's — not the point. The point is, Frodo — you'll be all right.

sam: what we need is a good few taters
gollum:what's taters precious...what's taters aye?
sam:po-ta-toes, boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew or nice golden chips with a bit of fried fish
gollum *spits*
sam:even you couldn't say no to that
gollum:oh yes we could, give it to us raw and wriggling...you keep nasty chips
sam:you're hopeless

pippin:done!
merry:you're supposed to stick it in the ground
pippin:it is in the ground
merry:outside!
pippin:this was your idea
firework:boom........
merry:that was good
pippin:let's get another one
both:ahhh
gandalf:meriadoc brandybuck and peregrin took i might have known

frodo:we are hobbits of the shire, frodo baggins is my name and this is samwise gamgee
faramir:your body guard?
sam:his gardener

the council scene, sams speech, aragorns speech

gandalf: it is time frodo
sam: what does he mean?
frodo:we set out to save the shire sam, and it has been saved but not for me
sasm:you don't mean that, you can't leave
frodo:the last pages are for you sam
.............................
frodo voiceover:My dear Sam, you cannot always be torn in two. You will have to be one and whole for many years. You have so much to enjoy and to be, and to do. Your part in this story will go on

merry:My lady, you are fair and brave and have much to live for, and many who love you. I know it is too late to turn aside...I know there is not much point now in hoping. If I were a knight of Rohan capable of great deeds… but I'm not. I'm a Hobbit. And I know I can't save Middle-Earth.I just want to help my friends. Frodo. Sam. Pippin. More than anything… I wish I could see them again.

sam:mister frodo.Oh, no! Frodo! Mister Frodo! Wake up! Don't leave me here alone! Don't go where I can't follow. Wake up! You're not asleep… dead.

pippin:What were you thinking, Peregrin Took? What service can a Hobbit offer such a great lord of Men?
faramir:It was well done. A generous deed should not be checked with cold counsel. You are to join the tower guard.
pippin:I didn't think they would find any livery that would fit me
faramir:Once belonged to a young boy of the city. A very foolish one who wasted many hours slaying dragons instead of attending to his studies
pippin:this was yours?
faramir:Yes, it was mine. My father had it made for me
pippin:Well… I'm taller than you were then. Though I'm not likely to grow anymore, except sideways
faramir:Never fitted me either. Boromir was always the soldier. They were so alike, he and my father. Proud. Stubborn even. But strong
pippin:I think you have strength of a different kind. And one day your father will see it

theoden:Arise! Arise! Riders of Théoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword-day! A red day, ere the sun rises

there are loads more but it'll be too long if i put them all

Oookay... here goes.

---

Gandalf: A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

Gandalf: My dear Frodo. Hobbits really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month, and yet after a hundred years they can still surprise you.

Gandalf: Confound it all, Samwise Gamgee, have you been eavesdropping?
Sam: I haven't been dropping no eaves sir, honest!
Gandalf: What did you hear? Speak!
Sam: Nothing important, sir. Leastways, I heard a great deal about a ring and a Dark Lord and something about the end of the world, but please don't hurt me Mr. Gandalf... don't turn me into anything... unnatural.

Frodo: Remember what Bilbo used to say? It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.

Pippin: What's that?
Merry: This, my friend, is a pint.
Pippin: It comes in pints? I'm getting one.

Gandalf: There is only one Lord of the Ring, and he does not share power!

Boromir: One does not simply walk into Mordor.

Pippin: Anyway, you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission... quest... thing!
Merry: Well, that rules you out, Pip.
Elrond: So be it. You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring.
Pippin: Great! Where are we going?

Pippin: Are we lost?
Merry: No.
Pippin: I think we are.
Merry: Shh. Gandalf's thinkin'.
Pippin: Merry?
Merry: What?
Pippin: I'm hungry.

Frodo: It was a pity Bilbo didn't kill him when he had the chance.
Gandalf: Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.
Frodo: I wish none of this had happened. I wish the ring had never come to me.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you.

Gandalf: YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!

Galadriel: Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.

Frodo: Go back, Sam! I am going to Mordor alone!
Sam: Of course you are! And I'm coming with you!

---

Oooh, there's so many. I could quote the whole movie if there were space. :goofy:
