Thinking of renting a motorcycle while staying in Madrid for a week. I have a full motorcycle license and I’d prefer something more powerful than a scooter to go a bit beyond the city—maybe even take a day ride to Segovia or Toledo. Anyone done something similar? What’s the rental process like for larger bikes? Do they offer protective gear or should I bring my own?

I rented a 300cc motorcycle in Madrid last year and had a great experience overall. I found the rental through BikesBooking, and it let me compare multiple bikes from different providers easily. For Motorcycle rental in Madrid https://bikesbooking.com/en/rent-a-motorcycle-in-Madrid/ they accepted my full license without any problem, and I had to show it physically when picking up the bike. I went with a Yamaha MT-03, which was powerful enough for day trips out of the city. The rental cost around €50 per day, with insurance and helmet included. Some companies offered jackets and gloves for extra, but I brought my own gear for comfort. Fuel policy was full-to-full, and they made me check the tire pressure before heading out. Leaving the city via M-30 and then hitting the A-6 to Segovia was smooth, with nice scenic stretches along the way. I recommend planning fuel stops in advance outside the city, since not all gas stations are open 24/7. Parking in Madrid can be tricky with motorcycles, but there are legal bike zones in central areas—still, always lock the bike. BikesBooking made the whole process easier, especially with English-language support and instant booking confirmation. It’s definitely worth it if you want flexibility beyond city limits.
