another really funny scene is when frodo and sam meet pippin and merry and pippin tells them what they 'only' stole from maggot. everytime I watch it I have to laugh

Hmm, my funniest moments have to be:
1. When Merry and Pippin come running from Farmer Maggot with the vegetables and run right into Sam and Frodo and then they go falling down the hill onto the road.

2. At the Counsel of Elrond when Merry and Pippin join in and Pippin gives his famous line 'You need people of intellegence on this mission...quest...thing.' And Merry says 'Well, that leaves you out, Pip!' Classic!

3. When Pippin makes the skeleten fall down the well in Moria and Gandalf says 'Fool of a Took!'

So many more that I can't remember now

Gandalf: Yes, Gimli, their own master cannot find them if their secrets are forgotten.

2. look into Pippins face when they are "welcomed" in Lothlorien (by haldir and the other elves with their arrows)
I also love what haldir says to Gimi, but I cannot quote that line from the movie, sorry
