I agree with you Guard of the Citadel 100%.
I had a playlist on random a few months ago, and I just happened upon the Breaking of the Fellowship, and tears just started. A combination of the wonderful score and the fact I knew what was happening at that point.
After watching ROTK, I ended up listening to the last disc of the EE soundtrack, and it was For Frodo and My Friends You Bow To No-one all over again. A weeping wreck.
No film has ever affected me emotionally like LOTR. So it's got to be doing something right.

Thank you so much! Don't even get me started on ROTK!!! A weeping wreck indeed!!! I believe the most touched I have ever been was seeing Mr. Shore conduct the score to his beautiful music! Watching him, seeing the scenes run through your head, the emotions were so high and so full that your heart could barely contain them! Talk about tears flowing!!!! I do beleive that "The Breaking of the Fellowship" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music that I've ever heard. That being said, the ending of ROTK literally rips me apart. It is impossible to NOT cry. As one person on here put it, you howl. As the strings of the music begin there with the crowning of Aragorn clear through to the end....the tears never stop. Now take that...and place yourself in a live concert hall watching Mr. Shore conduct.....then let's talk about tears!

I am able to hold back the tears until Boromir's death, though I get slightly choked up during the mourning of Gandalf. The books, I must confess, have me doing some sort of laughing and crying combination the entire time.
