Are there places like this in the movies where Frodo’s endearing emotions touch you in a special way?

Yeah Celebrian. There is something so warm and tender and elementally endearing about that scene. Words could not describe the picture that PJ paints here of Frodo and Gandalf's friendship.

I also love how Gandalf and Frodo are talking in Moria. I find that touching.

Me too. Theirs was more than just an incredible friendship. How many of us need a close friend like that who is also a wise and trusted counselorr. Many go clear through their lives without that assurance and comfort. Tolkiens portrayals of friendship and fellowship go beyond the natural. I think they are poignant images of truth that lie beneath the surface in this world that can only be understood and realized by seeking them with all your heart and diving deep.

Yes, Frodo's affection he shows toward the others always gives me shivers. In a good way. I think it is because, when he displays love towards others; it is so pure and innocent and beautiful.
Elijah Wood truly has a way of expressing himself without words.

Hear Hear.
I love all of what you said Fencing Maiden. It is so pure and beautiful and stirring that the love Frodo shows others does give me a sort of tingle.
And you're right. Elijah Wood is a simply amazing actor, and he does have a certain way of commmunciating without words. Perhaps it's the eyes that do the talking for him.......

i like frodo, i like the way he smiles an i like akmost every scene in which he is in. i know it's not a happy scene but i love the scene where he remembers gnandalf saying that all that he has to decide is what to do with the time that was given to him. i also gets goofbumps during the scene in rivendell, where he meets bilbo again.

Facial expression and the eyes are huge. I remember Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands. He hardly spoke at all and it was dynamic. The eyes can do so much!

I got to thinking about that evenstarelfe. Would you rather see your lover's love for you deep in his/her eyes or hear him/her tell you with his/her voice?

I know you're not asking me but anyways I'd like to hear it in his voice, but if his eyes said differently that'd be disturbing.
I think the best part (in the movies, the book was better) is when Sam begins to cry at Mt. Doom right after the ring is destroyed and Frodo comforts him.

@ Sinbearer: Lol, I'm answering your question as well. Hearing someone say I love you would definitely not be enough for me. Words are just that, words. They describe emotion. I want to see the emotion and feel the emotion. The best way to do so is to see it in someones eyes. The eyes are the window to your soul, and if they can say they love you with their eyes then that is definitely a step further than saying it only with your mind, which is where the words would have been formed.

^That's exactly right! Except, for me, I don't always trust myself fully, so even if I was sure as anything I had read it in their eyes, I'd still prefer a little more proof than that, just to make sure I hadn't made it up. I always worry about that...

I totally agree with you... "I'm glad I'm with you Sam... here at the end of all things". Gosh, that was done so amazingly, it sent shivers up my spine. Actually, the entire RotK sent shivers up my spine. I know it was because it was SUCH a good film, but shivers are uncomfortable, especially when they last for 2+ hours

I made you laugh? Cool...
I think it was supposed to "I'm glad you're here with me, Sam Gamgee-here at the end of all things."
My heart sank when he said, "Glad to be with you" instead. Some changes I can bear, but the destroying of the ring scene was so precious. And when there is absolutely no good reason why they should change a significant line...I don't know. It's just sad.

Oh yeah... something like what.
Yeah, I don't know why they HAD to change such little lines like that... it's that easy to keep it as it's supposed to be
