@Ea: That question is also often addressed in the FAQs. So it floats around. To the guestbook tweakers: How possible is it to have things not show up when they're optional? I know some of them don't, and some do. I personally like Harthad's guestbook, with JF's colors.

Nurrantiel: For the guestbook that I used (Bravenet), all the things that you don't fill don't show up on your message that you write.
Also guys, I'll have to change my guestbook back to what it was before for my site, so if there's an agreement reached upon what guestbook software (personally, I like Bravenet, the one that I used) soon, then I'll change it once we've decided. Is that okay?

I like all of the poll options and I think everyone's final ideas were good. I'm down with whatever goes up. ^^ Eä wrote: Also, loving the idea of having the Cbox back as soon as we can... It would definitely attract new people and perhaps get some from the old tagger crowd back too. Would you try to play around with it, Nicole? I remember you mentioning in your thread that you'd like to help out.. No pressure or anything.. I can totally do the Cbox, if that is what we are going with. Do I need a go-ahead from anyone to make an account and all that jazz?

All righty then! Shall get cracking on that ASAP. ::one minute later:: Okay, the usernames "arwen-undomiel" and "arwenundomiel" for the Cbox were already taken (unsurprisingly) so I just decided to go the easy route and made 'a-u' the username. It doesn't matter anyway, because the tag will be embed on the main site. Also for now, I set the account e-mail as my own, but should I change it to one of the site e-mails? If so, which one? How is this for a color scheme? I modified a template they offered. I made the colors lighter than the forum scheme because I figured the tag might look better standing out a little from the page. Plus, we do not know what the new site layout will look like yet. If they don't match, we can tweak it later. http://a-u.cbox.ws/

Of course! It is only that big because I cannot emb the tag into this post. The web link stretches it out no matter what the set dimensions are. ^^ I just wanted to fly the colors by. So you are saying they should be blue, for now, to match the main site? How is this: http://a-u.cbox.ws/Also, whoever cleaned up the main page (not used to all that empty space!), great! Also JF, since you are one of the update people, do you think you could limit the number of update/news posts showing to the ones from this year? The bottom three are from 2008.

Archived all the old news and changed the items per page to 4 Old news gone, huzzah! Oh, and thanks for helping out, Nicole. It's exciting to see a new member so involved in the Revival!

^No problem! I may be a new member on the forum, but I have been a long-time visitor of A-U so I have a vested interest. And I will for sure tweak the tag when the rest of the layout is ready.

GuestbookThanks for using your own site as a guinea pig, Harthad. Could you take a screen dump of the A-U customized guestbook to post or is it already too late? My idea was that we post Harthad's and JF's suggestions so we can create the guestbook like we want it from those two examples. CboxWhoa, I can't say how excited I am that A-U is finally getting a tag again... I used to be a tagboard RP'er loooong time ago *nostalgic moment* Thankyouthankyouthankyou, Nicole. News on the siteYay, for clean up in old news posts, JF/Arweb. I was wondering where do the news updates go when they're not displayed on the main site anymore? I mean this revival has happened quite fast (compared to the no updates for the past 2-3 years ) and if people who get to the party late wants a quick idea of everything's that's going on, they could take a look at the news updates. Would that be possible? OrganisingSo we've quite a few people actively involved in stuff now, it's so wonderful to see. Love how this is really a community effort. I was wondering if we need to update the first post on this thread and the Image Headquarters too wth the people responsible for what at the moment. Or if Ana could post her list of who is involved in what.. just for the sake of the overview.. like so it was easier to see who to contact if you say had a question about the guestbook or if you wanted to be on a graphics team.

RL is going to be a bit overwhelming for me these next few days (exams coming up), so I might not have the time :/ So if anyone else has the time to make a list of who does what, that'd be great.

Lovely... man, I wish we had a 'like'-button.. when you actually don't have anything to say but just wants to.. well, like. Anyway, so I started the list with what we've just been working on.. totally up to you whether you want to use this form.. I won't be sad if you don't I know there's more but I wasn't sure who does what with the coding and graphics.. (Oh, and I hope I'm not stressing you to make the thread.. I can do it as well, it's just that if you start it you'll also have access to editing the first post for general overview and it might be convenient.. but seriously, no stress! ) ForumWhat: New forum skin Who: ErulissëEnethNîn Status: Completed Main siteWhat: Poll Who: Anameleth is in charge of changing the poll, everone can suggest poll questions. Status: The poll is up and running! What: News updates Who: Johnny's Fan and Larael are in charge of updating the news. PM them with Hobbit news or tip them off with other good stuff they could use. Status: News is updated regularly. What: Cbox (tagboard) Who: Nicole is in charge and working on it. She has the code and will adjust it to new layout. Status: Will send it to the coders (Nurrantiel Mashiara I think?) when it's done. The Cbox would be smaller and fit the main site but have a look here: http://a-u.cbox.ws/What: Guestbook Who: Harthad and Johnny's Fan are working on it. Status: We need to decide what it should look like and what questions (required or not) to include. Harthad's version: http://harthads-haven.com/images/a-u-guestbookJohnny's Fan's version: http://users4.smartgb.com/g/g.php?a=s&i=g44-61159-4e

That looks really good I'll take a closer look and start the thread when I have a little more time. Also thanks for helping me out with it! And yes, a like-button would come in handy on so many occasions
