Post subject:  Which dwarf you like most?
Not looking at movie's dwarves, which of them you liked most when you were reading The Hobbit? I always loved Bombur, because he was so naive and thought only about food :p

I've always liked Balin. He was the one who always stood by Bilbo and had the most faith in him. If I recall correctly he also acted sort of as Thorin's unofficial right-hand man.

It's sad to know that he came to such a bad end in Moria.

Despite all of his flaws, I like Thorin best. Maybe because he was so...I don't know...different? He was at the beginning the father figure of all dwarves and later; well, he had his bad moments ^^
But I love him. And maybe Kili and Fili, I feel that they could crash mountains together if they weren't "just" dwarves ^^

Thorin...hmm...he seemed always far from the reader (me), maybe because of his nobleness?

Maybe because of this "nobleness" I find him different and exotic :p Besides, he is not THAT noble.

I liked Balin the best, because he was always prepared to give Bilbo a hand if he needed it :) And perhaps also because he's only one of the few dwarves who get a bit more character-depth, besides Thorin.

Right away my thoughts go to Kili and Fili. The movie makes them even better. I also like Bofur :)
