I think I'm leaning more towards Pelennor Fields though. DEAD PEOPLE! To quote: Oliphaunt: AGH, a green cloud of death is attacking my butt! =]
Haha, that puppet show... i laughed so hard after reading that...

I really like Helms Deep best, it just was so detailed in the book, and in the movie it was great too!! I liked that the elves showed up in the movie Didn't like Haldir died...

The battle scene at Helm's Deep is certainly the best in Lord of the Rings. I don't know if it's the best battle scene ever. I think that'll depend on who you ask. But it's certainly my favourite.

You are most definatley NOT alone with the feelings that the battle of Helm's deep is an amazing one! It's full of action and it has me gaping with awe everytime i see it. I do, however, believe that the battle for Middle-Earth is so much more exciting as we are not only focused on the battle, but also with the fact that Frodo and Sam are about to destroy the ring, and when Frodo almost fails, Aragorn is almost killed by that troll!

The Two Towers is my favorite movie of all time, closely followed by the other two movies of LOTR and Pride and Prejudice. I love the battle of Helm's Deep. It's an amazing scene and they did it well. 300 against 10,000 isn't the best odds, but with Aragorn leading the battle, everyone would follow him. The part where they ride out and see Gandalf made everone in the movie theater clap and cheer, and I was among them. The fact that Eomer came back for his uncle made it even better, including the charge down the hill and the determined, fearless faces...

Can we discuss the battle of Helm's Deep as it pertains mainly to the books or I might be moving/closing this thread at the movie section of TTT.

I like it because of the way it's set up, with the young boys getting swords and helmets and the old men getting other weapons. And the scene with Haleth and Aragorn. It's so sad!

Well, it was quite breathtaking but it wasn't as nearly as awesome as The Battle for Middle Earth in RotK

Ditto to that, LadyOfRohan--the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and likewise, the Battle of the Morannon, were both more spectacular.

I agree Pelennor Fields was awesome, but there's something about Helm's Deep that makes me want to hold on to it and not admit Pelennor Fields as the best.

That there was my most favorite battle scene out of the entire story. My favorite scene in the third one now was when Theoden gave that speech before the battle, but in the second one I adored the helms deep battle.

Helm's Deep is my favorite battle scene on the movie, but Pelennor fields is my favorite in the book, because of the arrival of the Rohirrim and the way Theoden charges into the orcs like a knife splitting water.

I really liked the Battle at Helm's Deep but the whole Siege of Minas Tirith was my favourite battle in the book, although oddly enough in the film the fight at Amon Hen was my favourite, except where boromir dies, that had me in tears.
