I also like TTT most and today.... I bought the Special Extended Edition
I'm soooo happy unfortunatly I don't have a DVD player and my brother didn't let me watch the whole movie (and nothing of the bonus material) so I have to wait until tomorrow
but I've got it and it's worth wating I watched more than half of it today and I'm sooo lucky I could buy it
I'd also rank RotK last, because I don't like those Frodo-Gollum-Sam-scenes in there and I think Aragorn isn't so pretty in that movie (but in TTT he is )

That's exactly how I feel about Middle-Earth. Plus, the storyline of this one just grabs you!!!

Yes, that is quite a funny scene. It breaks the stress of ten-thousand Orcs approaching.

the movie is wonderful. It's funny and less dark then the other 2.

I rank TTT the highest because that was Legolas' best performance, you meet Eowyn, Eomer, Faramir, and Gandalf the white, and also I adore the golden hall in Rohan. I could live there. Helm's Deep is sweet, and there isn't as much violence and gore with the men and elves as in rotk.
I liked Legolas in rotk and fotr but I was a little disapointed with Orlando's acting in a couple of scenes, like when Boromir dies, his sad look is OBVIOUSLY fake. When he manages to get it right they have already moved the camera over to Gimli, so his face is only half way on the screen!

well i didn't think it was fake. i just htought of it as he can barely handle it b/c in his lifestyle adn way of living, there is no death from being with elves most of his life and he is just experiencing it with close friends and companions. i dunno. he has the same face in fotr.

Orlando said that he acted that way like after the Mines of Moria because he wasnted Legolas to have the thought that he didn't know what was going on from elves not experiencing death. Which, is understandable and not at the same time.
I mean, elves may not experience death, but they are aware at other races do. So, considering how long they live, I would assume that an elf would have traveled out of their homeland sometime to experience some sort of death. Pretty much, I like the thought Orlando put behind it, but I don't necessarily agree with it in all cases.
TTT is the lowest in my perspective. It isn't from the acting or anything. I believe, to me, TTT is just the "transition" between FotR and RotK.

Okay, misunderstanding here. When I said fake I meant an act. Everything IS an act, because that's what movies are. But when they do facial expressions, it should not be so obvious that they are putting on an act. It should look real. And I think it could have looked a little more real, that's all. Anyways, I was talking about his look after Boromir dies. I thought the one after Gandalf died was pretty good.

Actually, my sister and I always comment on how well his sad look was after Boromir died...
To each their own, I guess, but I personally think that Bloom's [Legolas] looks of sorrow are really well done.

He did two of them. The first was not very good, but then the second one WAS good. But at that time his face is half way off the screen.

TTT is my least favorite, but that is simply due to the fact that the storyline is more based on Men rather than Hobbits.
I believe that it is typically ranked last because it is more the transition moment. It is a really good movie, but it is definetly not the climax of the story.

I also currently like ttt the best because of it's storybookishness. However, having not seen rotk ee I can't really make that decision!
