has anyone noticed that at the end of the battle of helms deep, when gandalf and legolas and aragorn and gimli (behind legolas) come over the hill and gandalf says 'the battle for middle earth is about to begin' that shadowfax's muzzle is black like right up to his eyes?! What's up with that? is it just the dirt or a horsie make up mistake??

Actually I don't think it's that bad. Maybe it is a bit dark for Shadowfax but I think it might be a trick of the light.

I havent noticed that either. It could be something with the make-up, or they could be using a different horse. Sometimes in movies they have more than one horse to play the role. Im not sure if they did that for Shadowfax though. Hes still cute no matter what!

Yeah, I had this discussion with a good friend of mine.. both, with Shadofax, we came to the conclusion that the one horse had to have some black in that they forgot to 'overpaint'..
and with faramir, we weren't sure, what this is. We were thinking that he was maybe not there when they did the scene, but at the same time, they could have done a better job with putting him in at green screen, or this things looks computer animated for whatever reason they did this.. we did not really come to a solution. :bye:

i haven't noticed that, i'll have to look out for it, thanks :)
I would guess that it is probably just the way the light is shining and the dark bits are where the shadows occur.

I haven't noticed that either. I usually don't see a lot of details, well, I notice some, but not that many. It might be a trick of the light, but also something else. I have no idea.

Well it might be Blanco but they said it so it sounded like Blankout to my ears.

Isn't that a double? If not then he does look very strange.

Like a body double or a stunt double. They are usually used when the actor is unavailable.
