Personally I think that it would have punched a hole right through the story. Where would they put Arwen after the Battle of Helm's Deep? It's like if they let the entire Galadhrim live... they can't just return home and leave the others to go to another battle. And in that case, it worked well; the Galadhrim could be slaughtered - all of them - and the story would not be effected one bit, because their fate was never mentioned by Tolkien, which left Jackson free to take that to his advantage.

He could not have gotten rid of Arwen so easily though. She could not die, because her character is needed later on. And after the battle, she would never return home like a coward, and leave Aragorn to war elsewhere. It just didn't happen that way... Elves would never abandon while they were still able to help. And Arwen certainly would not... she loved Aragorn too much.

And wouldn't it be very odd if NONE of the Galadhrim lived... and only Arwen did? I would have been appalled.

I didn't know that all Galadhrim were killed during Helm's Deep as well. Of course, Haldir was killed and probably also some others, but I didn't imagine that the whole army was wiped out, also I always wondered where they might be...

@Lady Raine: I think if Arwen would have been at Helm's Deep she would have followed Aragorn to Edoras and Gondor. But I doubt whether she would still be in a condition to fight later, because in RotK her life is somehow bound to the fate of the ring after she gave up her immortality and she felt much weaker (the "If I could have seen him once more" -scene), so I guess she wouldn't have been able to fight after some time. She probably would have to stay in Rohan, but perhaps Aragorn wouldn't be willing to leave her in her present state of health and would have never gone to Gondor then...

On the DVDs extras of the Extended Edition of TTT, I think, you can see a concept art for Arwen dressed up in a Rohan armor... I guess that means that if they had gone on this idea of making her joigning Aragorn, she would afterward have stayed with the Rohirrim and probably have fought on the Pelennor Fields...

I'm really glad they stopped at time! It would have been sooo far from the spirit of the book! :duh:

You're welcome! :) I really do prefer the version of TTT that we have now! Obviously PJ and Liv Tyler agree!

*snort* It's not like he did everything else accordingly.

No, but think about what a daunting job he had - nobody could've gotten everything exactly like the book. Be glad the movies are as good as they are and that they didn't end up like the Eragon movie. :annoyed2:

i totally agree. movies do have mistakes, i won't say they don't and they definetlly aren't perfect, but stil, pj made a really good job.
he made good movies and he held to the book as much as possible. eragon on the other hand is a perfect example of a commercial movie who's only goal was to make a lot of money. it isn't all too bad, but still.
