uuuh yeah didn't you guys know about that when the movies were coming out...??? There was this big rumor that Arwen was going to be at Helm's Deep but sooooo many ppl complained/hated it that PJ decided to take it out. At least that's how the rumors went. lol It was a big deal back then.

But that's cool that you got screen captures of her. Twould have been the ultimatum in retardation to have her there in my opinion. Bad enough that she stole Glorifindel's horse. lol

As much as I like Arwen I wouldn't want her copycatting the role of my other favorite female character (Éowyn).

I would have loved to see Arwen at Helms Deep. It would be interesting to see how Aragorn reacted!

Personally I think that it would have punched a hole right through the story. Where would they put Arwen after the Battle of Helm's Deep? It's like if they let the entire Galadhrim live... they can't just return home and leave the others to go to another battle. And in that case, it worked well; the Galadhrim could be slaughtered - all of them - and the story would not be effected one bit, because their fate was never mentioned by Tolkien, which left Jackson free to take that to his advantage.

He could not have gotten rid of Arwen so easily though. She could not die, because her character is needed later on. And after the battle, she would never return home like a coward, and leave Aragorn to war elsewhere. It just didn't happen that way... Elves would never abandon while they were still able to help. And Arwen certainly would not... she loved Aragorn too much.

And wouldn't it be very odd if NONE of the Galadhrim lived... and only Arwen did? I would have been appalled.

Good points Haldir. It was even strange how all the Galadhrim were killed.. every single one of them, one of the most well-trained troops of the free people, and they were just slaughtered in order to suit PJ's needs for a great, heroic battle sequence which he could run in slow-motion with heart-wrenching music playing... If he wanted tears from the audience he could have introduced another insignificant charactor, perhaps of the people of Rohan - since it was mainly their battle... *shakes head* So cheap...

I feel like a regular idiot now - I didn't know the Galadhrim were ALL killed... I thought it was just Haldir.

That's retarded. Why not kill off somebody else???

Exactly! It doesn't make any sense at all... Elves have thousands of years of experience and they are extremely skilled warriors. To wipe out their entire army like ants is just ridiculous. And to top that off, the Rohirrim were able to slaughter all of the dark army in one go... something that the Elves should have been capable of instead of the Men. Since when were Men more resilient than Elves?

Ditto to that. In the books, Tolkien gave each character a specific role. And I think at times PJ kind of broke those roles that Tolkien gave them.

You have a good point. Where would Arwen go? Would she go with Aragorn back to Rohan and the Pelloner Fields? What if she fell ill there?
