When I first saw the movie, my favorite parts were when Eowyn was standing outside Meduseld in the white dress and the wind's blowing, and when Eowyn and Aragorn cross swords and have their little conversation about what Eowyn fears. But now that I've seen the movie a lot more I can't decide :duh:

This topic belongs in the movie forum :) Don't worry, everyone makes mistakes, and I'll move this thread to the correct forum since there is not topic there that talks about favorite moments. :)

My favourite part is on the Special Extended Edition the scene where Faramir remembers how it was before Boromir rode to Rivendell. This scenes in Osgiliath are simply great and you get a completely different impression of Boromir!

Also I love the scene "The Riders of Rohan", where Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli meet Éomer and his followers. I love this scene!

First and foremost, I love Gandalf falling/fighting with the Balrog. especially if you have a plasma and speakers all over! the music is awesome (talk about adrenaline!) I also love right after Arwen er... I don't know, blesses Aragorn, and she's laying on her bed, and you hear the Breath of Life song. (Iiiiiiiii want her room!) And then my other favorite part is when Faramir sees Boromir floating in the boat, and he looks so sad... *face crumples up* oh Faramir! *hugs*

Well, here's one of my favorite parts. I'm doing this all by memory, so it may not all be accurate . . .

It takes place in the scene called "The Tales that really Mattered" when Frodo and Sam were still with Faramir - before he releases them.

Frodo: "I can't do this Sam."

Sam: "I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here . . . But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end, because how could the end be happy?. . . How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened?. . . But in the end, it's only a passing thing . . .
this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it'll shine out the clearer. . . Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I understand. I know now. Folks in those stories . . . had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding onto something."

Frodo: "What are we holding onto Sam?"

Sam: "That there's some good in this world Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

That scene is so touching. I watch it over and over and over. :'( :bye2:

I must say I didn't really enjoy this movie as much as the others (the Fellowship of the Ring and the Return of the King), just because the Two Towers has become a complete mess. Nothing's true and nothing really happened the way Peter Jackson showed in the movies..

Ah, well, let's just say I like the parts that have stayed true to the books the best. That isn't much, though.
