Hands down. This:

Its all wrong, by rights we shouldn't even be here, but we are. Its like in the great stories Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered, full of darkness and danger they were and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end its only a passing thing, this shadow, even darkness must pass, a new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you...that meant something...even if you were too small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo I do understand, I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something.

What are we holding onto Sam?

That there's some good in this world Mr. Frodo and its worth fighting for.

Absolutely agree. Even though, as said in the quote, they shouldn't be there. They never passed through Osgiliath in the book.
Who cares?

My fave, aside from the box thing, is Sam's "Po - ta - toes!"

Gollum having a quirrel with himself..
"You look terrible" by Legolas.
"It was a gift. Keep it." by Arwen.
Random orch yelling "what the h*ll!?" when the ladders fell over.
"Tens of thousands", by Saruman.
And of course Haldir's little speech right after the elven army has arrived to Helms deep.

I for some reason just love when at the beginning of TTT & Gandalf & the others show up at Isengard & TreeBeard is standing there & first thing he says is "young Master Gandalf" & it just cracks me up, i guess because Gandalf is pretty old but Treebeard has a few years on him lol

^^ cracks me up too..

Off topic warning!
I think that Treebeard and Gandalf are both maias, made by Ilúvatar himself, so they're pretty much at the same age.

"FOR GONDOR!!!"

"Remember this day brother."

And of course the top post is probably some of the best lines in history.

This whole heartedly. Sometimes I just have to watch and hear that scene after a rough day or when i know I'm about to fall into some bad thinking.

There are far too many good lines in all the films to be honest.
A few more of my favourites are:
- "Shall I describe it to you?" *looks down* "Or would you like me to find you a box?"
- The whole conversation between Aragorn and Gimli about Aragorn having to toss Gimli:
"Toss me..."
".... What?"
"I cannot jump the distance so you'll have to toss me!" *Aragorn nods and prepares* "Wh-Woah. Don't tell the elf."
"Not a word." *toss*
- "Then I will die as one of them!"
- "TO THE KING!"
- "Remember today, little brother. Today life is good."

^yeah the don't tell the elf was great.
Treebeard "They come with fire, they come with axes! knawing, biting, breaking, hacking, burning! Destroyers and userpers, curse them!" For some reason I love seeing the anger of the tree sheperd

Aragorn- "Eighty Seven"

(The whole scene and dialogue I think is pretty amusing. lol but I love when he tells her his actual age)

Also love Golumn's quote from the poem,

Cold be heart and hand and bone,
Cold be travelers far from home,
They do not see what lies ahead
when sun has failed and moon is dead.

^yes:

"It's not much but it's hot."
"It's good"
"Really?!?"
(starts spilling it when she's not looking and almost gets caught)
"My uncle says you fought with Thingol, my grandfather. But he must be mistaken."
"King theoden has a good memory: he was but a child at the time."
"You must be sixty!"
"Seventy?"
"You cannot be eighty!"
"Eighty-seven"

This is all from memory sorry for the mistakes...

All from memory I'd say we can ignore the mistakes.... that I didn't notice. :P

Was just thinking of another...

Legolas: "Forty two."

Gimli: "Forty two? Well, that's not bad for a pointy eared Elvish princling." *puffs pipe* "I myself am sitting prettily on 43!"

*Legolas shoots the orc*

"Fourty three."

"He was already dead!"

"He twitched."

"He twitched because he had MY ax imbedded in his nerve system!"
