What did you think of the battle of helms deep?
I personally enjoyed it. It was pretty well done,
I know they needed a climax for the two towers,
but stilll dont elves not die easily?? Then Whats up with
Haldir?

Well, the point that PJ and co. wanted to get across with the elves [since they never really battled in the books except for maybe a dozen elves at Minas Tirith] was that, even if they don't die from age, they can die from battle. I would think that Elves are pretty tough to take down because of the elegance of their fighting but not due to them being Elves.

Hmmmm.....personally I liked the battle of Helm's Deep. However I was not happy with Haldir dying and the occasional glimpse of Arwen fighting in the background. :)

Well, about Haldir - even though Elves may not die easily, the Battle of Helm's Deep was pretty much overwhelming . . . so then it won't be too unusual that at least one elf died, and that elf happened to be Haldir. And also, at parts of the battle, you'd see Elves falling off the walls.

What I found strange in the Battle of Helm's Deep was that after the wall was breached, Aragorn fell, got knocked unconcious . . .

And then a bit later, he popped up, was back on his feet and fighting as if he was alright . . . some stamina. :)

Anyway! I think my favorite part during the battle was near the end, when Gandalf arrives with Eomer and the Rohirrim - and then they start heading that really steep cliff - and then light explodes outward - yes, that was a very very nice scene. Oh - but I also liked a small scene at the beginning, when Theoden calls for a volley, and all the Elves on the wall draw their bows and arrows in perfect, perfect unison. Well shot. :bye2:

Did anyone else think that Theoden getting injured so quickly was like "Euh?"

Or maybe it's really because Theoden is more of a political leader opposed to being a fighter.

^haha . . . I was kind of annoyed when he was just standing there, giving orders, and then giving up hope while others were fighting for him, for his and their people . . . but after all, somebody has to be the political leader. But it's not as if I wouldn't get as easily injured anyway . . . so who am I to criticize. :bye2:

I liked the battle of Helm's Deep. I can understand why they put the Elves in it. I've never seen Arwen btw.

Ya, she's hard to see but she's there in the background of some shots. She's barely a flash of the crimson color she's wearing.

Btw, if I saw and Uruk the first thing I'd do is scream bloody murder and then run as fast as I could. :)

If I was alone and saw a uruk-hai I would run and not be able to scream, I would just start running and not stop until I found someone to protect me. But if there were other people around that were going to fight I wouldn't run, I would fight even though I would be scared out of my mind.

TTT is my favourite movie of the trilogy, so it's only natural that I love the Battle of Helms Deep. I agree with Elberethsq... the return of the Rohirrim with Gandalf and their attack on the Uruk-Hai was powerful stuff and I think a good definition of the new power that Gandalf seemed to posses. It was obvious he was reborn, revitalised and the white light signified just how powerful he really was [or had become]. He sent a message in that scene, he was the new head of the order of the Istari and ready to stand alongside [and lead] the peoples of Middle Earth against the dark powers - the only member of his order to, as they say, remain true to his purpose.

As far as running into a Urak goes.... I'd stand my ground! Frankly... I'm a fearless guy 8) lol.

yes i'm puzzled as well, ans for helms deep i loved it, my fav. was when eomer got to be the hero for once (YAY) because he does'nt do as much in the movies and i hated it when haldir died ::sobs:: at the website love and armour they described it like this: "Aragorn calls the retreat to the Keep, Haldir still on the wall, nods to Aragorn and calls to his men to retreat. Suddenly he gets stabbed by an Orc and cleaved in the back by another. In his last breaths, he sees all of the dead elves around him like telling him there was no hope and falls into Aragorn's arms.".....and then we all cry ::sobs::
