I liked his stunts, but it's not a very Legolas thing to do those things. He's more the silent person, who is always there but doesn't want all the attention. He's just his own, calm self, and that's what's so cool about him.
But I would like it if he would speak a little more, because he has such a beautiful voice.... 8)

Ahh, yes, Legolas. Arguably the most popular character in the movies, if only for the infamous Orlando Bloom.

Someone mentioned on this forum elsewhere recently that they would like to see Legolas interact more with the horses. I agree. I would have liked to see more of his elven qualities at work. There is a scene in the book where the Fellowship is on Caradhras and Legolas finds the going a little easier than his companions. Little additions to scenes such as this would've helped Legolas to grow and become noticed not just for making up the Fellowship numbers, but as a force to be reckoned with.

I'm afraid surfing on stairs and bungee jumping off Mûmakil really don't cut it for me. The film version of Legolas lacked the substance of his Fellowship peers.

Very well said, and I wholeheartedly agree. It seemed like his character was flat, with no depth like the other characters had....

yeah, like Aragorn is always in front (Legolas is an elf and can thus run faster) and Legolas - not Aragorn - was the one to realize Merry & Pip were still alive. :annoyed: I like the character Legolas, but in the movies he's not as good. Plus if you say 'I like Legolas' everyone automatically assumes you're some infatuated fangirl.

I know!! It's like you can't say i think he's "hot" without someone sayin' omg! ur totally obsessed(one of my friends doesn't like him a.k.a. she always says that) hehe. !!!!

EDIT: Merging posts ---

Plus, I mean Aragorn does seem kind selfish a bit you know? Like in the first and second movies he was in the fellowship but it didn't seem like he really started to caare all that much until the third movie when he futre was on the line. i don't know.. I kinda forgive him because he's cute. lol.

I think TTT is my favorite lotr movie so far. Because I love it all the swinging the stunts. My favorite part however was when Legolas scaled the elephant's trunk and then shot down the entire thing. I thought it was completely awesome!!!

oka yso I may be obsessed who cares?lol

Okay, yeah, I'd like to see Legolas get more lines, but if the lines are just going to be those "Yeah, thanks Mr. Obvious" kinda lines, I'd rather have him be the quiet wise elf, or something.

I agree with that entirely. I mean yes it was ok to see the action side of him but i think he should have atleast talked a bit more

Of course there will be a remake! Lots of them. I think Tolkiens world will live forever, that this book will be a classic forever. And if a time comes, when there are no more people to appreciate it, then... well, I'm glad I won't see that time.

Back to the topic:
I think the character of Legolas isn't portrayed in the movie that well, but it's not a total disaster either. And i don't think it's because of Orlando Bloom, I think it's the script. I mean, he looked like an Elf, walked like an Elf, and sounded like an Elf, they just gave him the wrong lines. I just can't forgive that infamous : "A diversion!" line from RotK.

Legolas' characteristics are just judged 24/7 now..... like he is lacking 'manly' characteristics then suddenly he is 'Mister Obvious!'. >_<

I don't think there will be any remakes. Because it's impossible to top PJ's. People would be crazy to try.

Did anyone try to remake Titanic?

I am in absolute agreement with the both of you. I love his fierceness in battle and the loyalty he gives his friends (just to name a few attributes that he possesses). I love how he was a man of action-his actions spoke louder than his words. He is just so perfect!
