Just like in FOTR, opinions! Can you think of any little scenes that might have been good to add to the movie of TTT? I mean, they don't necessarily have to be from the book, infact, why not just use your imagination? One of the things I think would have been REALLY cool to see in TTT (or even ROTK), would be to see Legolas calm or talk to some of the horses there. I just think that would be a good, respectable moment for him, and it would get the fans screaming, I am sure. ![]() |

Mm hm, I do agree Melphie. Legolas, all in all, really did need a stronger presence in the movies. In the books he was way better, and it would have been nicer to see a few more special moments for him in there. Especially like what you said with talking to the animals! That would be so awesome! Can you imagine (for example) if Legolas had been the one to calm Brego? I mean, not that that wasn't a valuable moment for Aragorn, but just the idea of it...especially if Eowyn talked to him! She could even ask him why he had joined the Fellowship and why he had come along with Aragorn and Gimli this far, and you would really get to see just a little bit more into the mind of the quiet Elf that has been so loyal even through the journey that the broken Fellowship has taken. I dunno. Just my musings... |

hmm... i'd like to see Erkenbrand myself (he's mentioned in the book but movie makers considered him ... err, unuseful ![]() ![]() ![]() just my humble opinion ![]() |

I do agree Elf Girl...and I totally agree with you too Mevie. It would have been very nice if Legolas had had a stronger presence in the film, even just to let you know like he's there and he's part of the story without having a heroic roll or without saying things only when necessary. I mean, I don't know if PJ did that on purpose or if Orlando really didn't want that big of a roll...I don't know. But I sure would have loved to see Elrond talk to Celeborn, like they originally had in that deleted scene! ![]() |

yeah, Faramir really seems evil when his men are throwing Gollum around (i think there's actually more in the EE). |

I can't remember...I know there's that part where Gollum returns to haunt Smeagol, and Gollum ends up saying to Faramir "my...PRECIOUS!! MINE!!", but I don't remember whether that was EE or not. I also wish they showed more of Frodo and Sam's reaction to the fact that Faramir was Boromir's brother. Bet that was a hit in the face, especially for Frodo! ![]() |

![]() Yes I agree with that even though I'm not a Legolas fan. I haven't seen the movie in a while so I can't really think of anything else. |

Bummer to not get to see it, but in the long run, I'm glad, because Arwen at Helms Deep would just have been.... ![]() Yeah. ![]() |

Yyyyyeah, Arwen at Helm's Deep probably would have had a few million people coming to burn down New Zealand. ![]() And you raise a good point about Legolas, Elf Girl. Elves actually are very quiet, and Orlando Bloom commented as well while he was playing Legolas that Legolas never really speaks unless he has to. He's very observant, and he has lived long enough to know that your breath can be wasted very quickly on things that just don't matter. Even so...I don't recall Legolas being that silent in the books. That was Orli's judgement of the matter, but I still think that Legolas probably could have offered a bit more opinion in a few of the circumstances instead of saying things like "A diversion". ![]() |

I would have died if Arwen was a the battle of Helm's Deep. Well maybe I'm exagerated a bit (:P) ...but I for surely would have been distraught and confused and probably wouldn't have bought the movies because PJ butchered them so badly. Yes that's my opinion on the matter. "A diversion"! |

Well, about the elves being very quiet... that's actually.... umm... PJ's elves. Not Tolkien's. ![]() To quote Gandalf in The Hobbit: "Valleys have ears, and some elves have over merry tongues." ![]() But to better show what Tolkien's elves are like, good ol' Sam says it best: "Some like kings, terrible and splendid; and some as merry as children." PJ got the solemn part of them right, there's no doubt about that. But what was lacking was the merriment and joy the elves had in life... Sad, but I suppose it would have been very hard to bring across onscreen. ![]() |

hehe you wouldn't be the only one. Arwen's OK but ... I dunno, she's not a fighter femme like Haleth, Idril or Eowyn. Anyway if i ever write a movie-based fic I'll knock all your ideas into ![]() |

![]() I can't think of any. But StardomGirl the little Elrond in your sig really is half the size of a toothpick. I mesured. No. I have nothing better to do with my free time. |
