I don't consider TTT to be gory at all....at any rate, it's nothing like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Saving Private Ryan or any of those sorts of movies....

Well, i must say it depends on the person who watches it. For some it is very gory, for the others it wasnt. I belong to the seckond group.

No, not really. But I guess I lost my sensitivity of "goryness" after I've watched the entire X-Files series.

That's what destroyed it? The X-Files? Dude - I don't think those are gory, just creepy. I have a terrifying fascination of watching those and freaking myself out.

I also don't think that TTT was gory, I only feel a bit pity for the Orcs. That they haven't eat for such a long time, that they have to eat someone of their own race...

TTT was pretty mild compared to other movies I've seen, but for a child I'm sure it would have been gory enough.

A movie being banned in 8 countryies? It must be scary!

There was a lot of fighting in TT, but i on't think that it was that gory. Of course, my friends and I are the kind of people who cheer when people get limbs chopped off, or disembowled, or beheaded, crushed, or in any way mangled up. And don't forget defenestration!

i agree, it really isnt that gory, to some it may seem that way but, they did have to keep it minimal, i mean even in the book Tolkien does not describe any sort of goryness...not very often...

All of the films are gory to alot of people, mainly due to Aragorn's fixation with be-heading people

Nazgul, please be more generous towards others. That comment about the "weak hearted" isn't fair at all. There are many different kinds of strengths. :)

I do believe that scene could be perceived as somewhat gory, it was at the very least gross to see canibalism. When it comes to whether someting is gory or not, I believe it is pretty much a matter of exposure, and tolerance level. How much have you seen, have you seen enough to "harden" toward something, and how much have you learned to handle/tolerate. So, to some TTT could be a gory movie (I know families who won't let their younger teens watch it), and to others it's nothing to blink at.

Also, moving this to TTT movie discussion. :bye2:

When I first saw it, I thought...'dude, those orcs are pretty nasty.' But after I saw it a few times later, I got used to it. A gory movie will affect me the first time I see it, but if I watch it more often, then it's ok.
Maybe I just get into a film too much and think it's real or something. Usually, if a character is hurt or something, I can feel it really strongly...like in TTT extended when one of the wildmen cuts the palm of his hand with a knife...eek...I can feel it! But that's just me.
