I had a slight problem when I first saw the scene - every time he gave that wide grin, it reminded me of an animation comedy sketch from Monty Python - and so I just burst out laughing (not a good idea at 2 O'clock in the morning!)

The animation was a man's incredibly wide grin, full of teeth - which then started dancing! I wish I could remember the name of the sketch!

Anyway - once I'd got that vision out of my head and watched the scene again - yes I think that the way that they increased the size of his mouth really gave him a freakish look that worked. The sideways look just didn't work for me, and I'm glad they chose not to use it.

Be alert - the world needs more lerts

He is one of my favorite caracters (or part of a character??) in Return of the King. He is just so spooky and I am a sucker for "scary" things. His accent kind of reminds me of Bela Lugosi, the original "movie" Dracula.

I never saw that....was it in EE? cuz I havn't seen the EE yet. If it WAS in the movie I guess I just havn't seen it in a while. But it DOES look creepy!

He was really awesome! But I would've screamed when he said that thing about Frodo and show the mithril shirt--it would be a nightmare!

I thought that it looked AWESOME! He died within seconds though, so I didn't get the point of him. Was he suppose to be strong?(If he was I think they should have shown him put up a little fight instead of just wham your dead)

Well, in the book he comes out and says pretty much everything he says. It's sort of an easy scene to cut.

I loved him.But it you gotta admit,he's creepy.I almost fell off the couch when I first saw it.But you can't help but love him.Him and the Nazgul are my favourite villians.

Yep, its another scene from the EE. It come right before the battle in front of the Black Gate. The gate opens and out come The Mouth of Sauron. He really creeps me out.....

Tripod. The enemy of all direct-linking. Believe me, I know. But me? Personally? I like to think of myself as a brave person. Ready to stand up for anything if she has to, ready to fight for the things she loves, and someone that fears neither death nor pain! Standing tall and strong, unwavered by the enemy's gaze, undaunted by Sauron's Eye, carrying with her a pretty elven ring - er, um, ok, I won't get carried away here...but truthfully enough...I am just NOT that kind of person. I may like thinking of it...but I'm not. And let me tell you something, I don't think I've ever been quite as scared as the time when I first laid eyes on the Mouth of Sauron's toothy grin. I mean, the guy rocks...but that grin was just...well, to put it frankly, I could kind of understand why Aragorn was giving off that slightly odd expression. Even my dad stopped chewing his popcorn for a second when he saw it.

Truthfully though, I do wish the MoS had been in TTT as well. Even if it was just to see him...he's such a great bad guy!
