That would make sense too. I am sure his tale lived on through the ages and would have been known by many possibly even in the time of the books. Thanks. I thought it was fitting with a banner of Yavanna who made the trees, an avatar of the trees, and another banner of the sun and moon which were made from the fruit of the trees and the two elves who went with them.

Fun fact: I have a friend who named their kid Beren. It made me very happy, to say the least. (I know that didn't have anything to do with the palntiri, but I just thought I'd add that )

A couple I know who met on another Tolkien board and got married in 2001 named their first born daughter Luthien Tinuviel. She is 14 now and goes by the name 'Lou'

That's pretty cool!
If and when I have kids, I will probably have some lotr/ME motivation for naming them, but I don't think id be as overt as Luthien Tinuviel. Probably something like Eleanor or Nessa for a girl. Maybe Sam or Bergil for a boy.

Lol I have always loved the name Luthien. I like Nessa too, that would be a good option. Yavanna is probably one of my favorite characters out of the silmarilion but that would be a little over the top I think.
For a boy I honestly am not sure. All the guy names I like would be either to "weird" or to obvious. Lol

Beren was a man - no Glorfindel possibilities, fer cryin' out loud! And Beren of Gondor wasn't even a king, he was a steward!
