That's a very good point, Lady_Undomiel. I totally agree with you. As for Elberethsq, does that mean you're totally against kissing? I wonder how we were all made then. I think it's a totally unnecessary comment and the underhanded comment against A/A doesn't help people to appreciate F/E more.

Oh dear......I think that was a little harsh fbc.

I agree. Perhaps FBC would kindly stop accusing people of A/A-bashing. :)

That being said, I do adore F/E in the books. Their time in the movies was way too short. There's something about them that's more real than all the other romances-- no love at first sight, like Beren/Luthien or Aragorn/Arwen; no contrary fathers ( :) ), once again like those two; no quests have to be embarked on to get married (once again like Beren/Luthien. I'm not sure about A/A, since it was only Aragorn who embarked on the quest). F/E is more down-to-earth. It's something that we can imagine happenng, something that makes sense. These two have been through a lot, and now they've turned to each other and find that they've fallen in love. Did anyone notice that they shared their first kiss in the moment of the shadow's downfall?

Considering that the original plot was for Eowyn to marry Aragorn, I think that E/F turned out remarkably well, and didn't give an impression of being tacked on as an afterthought. I think that their story was the loveliest in the books, and the most successful one that Tolkien wrote.

They did not have NEARLY enough screen time. There's almost a whole chapter about Faramir and Eowyn in the books, and a couple of paragraphs about Aragorn and Arwen. Yet in the movies it's the other way around. That's not fair

I totally agree with you they should have showed it longer at least 10 minutes longer instead of having it for 3 minutes long.

i actually love that part. i think it's just enough. :) i think this has been said before, but it may have ruined it if they had kissed. but don't think i'm saying they had just enough screen time - no, i think they should've had more. but in the movie, it was set up like they didn't know each other that well, and it would've been strange if they started kissing. i think holding hands is just sweet enough...and that little sigh Faramir gives. *sighs dreamily*

When Faramir is watching Eowyn, that look he has on his face kind of expresses how he feels. That scene was a good one. Both scenes were good. But if they had just started kissing out of the blue,no one would get it. :confused2: If they had had more screen time, then maybe it would have been ok.

I agree with most of you that E/F time was too short in the movie, but I was just glad that they got any time at all in the Extended Edition.
In the book their stories and the development of their relationship is the most convincing and touching of all the couples for me.
I also agree that the short time they had was well done by Peter Jackson and I think that the actors did a very good job of portraying their unspoken emotions and a real sense that they would end up in love and together.
Anyway that's just how it came across to me, but we all see things differently and I respect that.

I liked the scene but it did not show alot about how Faramir and Eowyn's relationship developed ,it was one moment they were fighting..at leats Eowyn was and the next moment they look at each other and fell in love..thats what i understood of it..didnt read the books yet.. :D
