Also, back to the debate. The appendices say that he and Gimli travelled alone to the undying lands, so in my mind (which is very prone to completely missing the obvious ) that leaves two conclusions: 1) he never had a love, for if he did he probably would've taken her with him, or 2) he had a love that travelled to the Undying Lands.

No, wait, three. 3) she refused to leave.

I think it would have been good either way. On one hand it would be really nice to see him happy with someone, but also I agree that it does leave him open for fanfics and drooling over . So I don't really mind that much.

I see Legolas as a very sex-less being. Someone who can appreciate the beauty in a woman, but never sees them in a more sexual matter. Because of that it would feel so weird for me if he'd gotten a girlfriend. I actually do kind of picture him living out the rest of Gimli's life with him and then just on his own exploring etc.

I don't know, I like Legolas but in the movies he got the cheesiest lines to deliver. It was so awkward. I like the book version of him a lot more. An though I think Orlando makes a perfect Legolas, it's just... he's awkward somehow. I don't know.
