Hey, I get whacked with hard objects a lot from my friends! Wow!
I've learned to live with it though.

Quote: I like eowyn because of what she goes through: being unloved and practically having to raise herself, crushing on aragorn only to find he doesn't return her feelings (a tortutous time, and one she looks back at with regret), losing all will to live, and then learning to be happy from an awesome guy who she also falls in love with. it's a beautiful story of growth and life that is often overlooked. it must be hard to appreciate because everything else going on somehow affects the fate of everyone in middle earth, and this is just one person's story. however i love it and think most people going through struggles and/or changes can relate to it in some way or another. I agree. Quote: I hate to tell you, but Arwen cries much more than Eowyn.
true that---dont get me wrong, I LOVE both characters, but Éowyn shows a heck of a lot more inner strength..not to mention she kicked butts in the Pelennor Fields
they're both strong women...Éowyn because of everything she went through, and because she's truly a warrior, and Arwen cuz it takes a LOT of courage to leave your ENTIRE kin to live with a mortal man, that after he dies, she's left alone..she knew what would happen cuz he's mortal and she's not and she went for it anyways (tho in the movies it seemed like she would give up immortality...which is also a huge decision)
As far as A/A scenes, there's barely any, lol, the love story doesnt play THAT much part in the movie..I would have liked that the Faramir/Éowyn relationship was included in the original version tho

Both women are very strong. I find that alot of people say that Arwen is a stronger character than Eowyn because she left her life behind, and also that Eowyn is stronger because she decided that she wanted to fight. Both are different, and yet, both situations show that they are both strong charachters, and I don't think that one is stronger thn the other.
*suddenly looks up in puzzlement* Wait! isn't this supposed to be about Eowyn and Faramir? Curses! Oh well. I had alot of fun posting this. And just to get it back on topic:
Eowyn and Faramir belong together!

Well I suppose that Aragorn and Arwen's relationship was a lot more important... Elf and Human, and Aragorn being the Heir of Gondor and everything.... But yes, I agree Eowyn and Faramir's scene should've been longer... and maybe a little more in the un-extended version (all that's in there is at the end when the pair look at each other).

They had more than just that. They had the scene in the extened version, and the one at Aragorn's coronation.
Eowyn and Faramir's relationship is just as important as Aragorn and Arwen's. Faramir is the Steward of Gondor, a rank below Aragorn. Eowyn was the niece of a King.

it's also important because they are two important characters...I think they might have given Arwen a bit more importance than she needed. (I know she needed to be in there & all, I've got nothing against her, but some of the scenes seemed rather repetitive.)

I think Arwen was on a bit too much as well, seeing as how she was hardly in the books, but whatever. I suppose some people enjoyed it.
I love the Faramir/Eowyn relationship! It is most definately my favorite romance in the trilogy, for as little as we see of it. I was disappointed that PJ left out everything about Faramir getting a east-facing room for Eowyn from the books, but I suppose... *sigh* I think their love is so pure and sweet. It's absolutely beautiful.

I remember reading the book and then watching ROTK EE and thinking, "Eowyn sure has a thing for rangers." And I was so happy that she got herself a man after her rejection from Aragorn.

She does have a thing for Rangers, come to think of it. Not that I can blame her... the lady has good taste in men. *shrug*

Yeah. With rangers, you'd think a lot of them would be taken.
