Who else thinks that the battle at Minas Tirith was awesome? I think it was the best battle. With the oliphaunts, the giants, the cave trolls, the fell beasts and all of the orcs what could be more exciting? I think it was an awesome battle. How about you?

it was amazing ... breathtaking ... that was my favourite scene in RotK ...

I think it was scary when the oliphaunts showed up. That made me cringe. :hide: It was neat the way Legolas killed one all by himself. "That still only counts as one!"

Heheh... the CG effects are awesome.

This battle is my favourite one in the whole trilogy. It just had everything, from the oliphaunts to the Ride of the Rohirrim... I loved it!

Not me. I think Helm's Deep was far better. Especially the ending. Eomer and Gandalf's arrival.

As for Minas Tirith, I did not find that so great as Helm's Deep

yes! i loved the battle of pelennor fields! all the different aspects were great, many of our beloved characters going into battle.

though one part confuses me. eowyn takes on the witch-king right? he hurts her arm, then pippin stabs him and eowyn kills him. then, after the battle has ended, eomer finds eowyn lying on the ground half dead, he obviously thinks she's dead because he starts crying, but what confuses me is, why is she half dead? we never saw anything that would kill her, so what happened?

also, i loved the dead guys (can't remember their real name)! they're like big waves of killing machines :bounce:

The Army of the dead? Yea, those guys are cool!

That was neat. I liked that part, too, but not as much as the battle of Pelennor fields.

I liked that part too, but still my favourite is the arrival of the Rohirrim on the Pelennor fields! And Theoden's speech.

I thought Helm's Deep was a bit overkill on the fighting. In the Minas Tirith battle it was a bit more exciting... at least, that's what I though. A bit more variety in enemies other than urak-hai and orcs. Just a matter of of opinion, I guess.

I see there are a lot who love Helm's Deep than Pelennor fields. But Pelennor was exciting too from the part of orcs, Nazguls, Grond and their catapults. But I liked to see Faramir in action but it did not happen

I personally absolutely hated this fight scene for many reasons.

1) The Gondorians wearing plate armour
2) The Gondorians being beaten in singles combat by orcs
3) A retarded orc, who was mentioned once in the books, leading the army of Mordor instead of Witch-King
4) Witch-King having such a minor part in the battle
5) The army of Mordor running around inside Minas Tirith, Witch-King should have been the only one to get into the city
6) The absence of the warriors of the southern fiefdoms
7) The lack of evil men in the Mordor army
8) The lack of the Rammas Echor
9) Witch-King breaking Gandalfs staff
10) Rohirrim charging headfirst into Mumakil
11) AOTD being at the battle
and last but certainly not least...
12) The lack of the Grey Company at the battle

But that's just the opinion of a book loyalist I guess. Although I hated this battle before I even read the books

Err right, you may as well say that about all three movies then, because they did alter nearly everything in the book for the movies ;)

Yes but the other two don't change as much as ROTK, nor do they miss out things incredibly important to the storyline

Erm ... well it did end the same way. And would you say that The Host of the Eldar wasn't a big change in TTT?

I would say it was a big change, but my point was that ROTK changed way too much for my liking.
