When I watch ROTKEE I always cry when Denethor tells Faramir that he wishes that Boromir was alive and Faramir dead. I also cry when Gandalf leave the Hobbits at the Grey Havens.
Does anyone else do this?

That always makes me teary, at the Gray Havens bit. Another bit that gets me teary, where everyone is watching and cheering after the ring is destroyed, then the volcano goes off and they think Sam and Frodo are dead. Every single time.

I don't think you're weird ;-) I also always cry during the Grey Havens, it's just such a touching scene and the music only adds to that.

Yep, you're not alone. I cry in that part too. But I cry most of the time when watching RotK. In the end I start to cry in Mount Doom part, when the eagles save Frodo and Sam, and I cry all the time till the ending credits.

Oh! Also when the mouth of Sauron shows them the chainmail as proof that Frodo died. And Aragorn doesn't fall for it :'(

I cry during the deaths of fave characters, even though I know it will happen. (That goes for all movies).
The Grey Havens had me all teary eyed as well.

Same here. I always cry during the Grey Havens scene and at Aragorn's coronation. Oh! And when Théoden King dies and Éomer screams out his grief over Éowyn having been injured. I'm pretty much an emotional wreck after watching or reading the Return of the King.

Not weird at all!!! I cried like every 60 seconds while watching the ROTK the first time! And even now, I still get teary sometimes at several scenes and feel the same old "AJSLNGKNFWKJEBFWBCSNLKLLKLZSKDLSKDSLKLDSK!!!!!! ;O!" feelings at like, everything! The part where Aragorn says "My friends....you bow to no one." and then his whole kingdom bows to the hobbits. And then the same parts you talked about-especially the end scene.

So yeah, I totally get you. ^^

I'm a guy so I don't cry.... but yes it's very sad! I'm pretty sure it's a pretty typical response for anyone who connects with the characters. The saddest part I think is after Denathor tells faramir and then Faramir goes out to Osgiliath... with pipin's song playing.... gosh :'-( If I was going to cry that would be the spot. I like Faramir, though.

Same hear, Don't usually cry during movies but yeah there is a lot of scenes that are really heart wrenching. I seem to have a tendency to like the character that gets killed for some reason. Boromir, Qui-Gon Jin, and Tripp from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Just to name a few. And I like before I know that they die.

Boromir for example, I didn't know much about the series at all when my uncle showed me and my sisters the series. I didn't go for the first movie because I didn't think it would interest me. ( I was totally wrong  ) So I showed up when they are reaching Lothlorien, so I sat down out of curiosity, it was the scene when Boromir and Aragorn are talking about Gondor. Was hooked on the movie right then. I thought they were cool characters, then Boromir is killed and I was like that figures. It shows how great a series it is with how it connects you with the characters.

Got to agree with you on Qui-gon! He's by far my favorite starwars character. I was so sad when he died.

But yeah... when you can connect with the characters on that level then you know something was done right.

Being empathetic is a good thing. :) I get that way whenever I watch most movies, even if it's movies I've seen before... I can connect with characters in a way I know a lot of people (that I know) can't.

See, for me it's not so easy to connect to characters. That, I think, is why what Captain Boromir said is key for me.... If someone like me can connect on that level then it's a good movie.

But yes, being empathetic is a good thing for sure.

AH, yes! More than half of my favorite characters from multiple fandoms end up dying. I'd list them here, but there are too many :p
