Err I think it was a bit brutal and gory. I'd much rather have him die at the end of the story like how he was supposed to.

I think it was pretty good. Yea, it was kinda gory. But I think if they had made him die at the end it would have taken the peak of the excitement out of the destroying of the ring and everybody getting back together again and Aragorn's coronation.

I knew it wasn't possible because of time constraints, but I would have loved to have seen The Scouring of the Shire. I've seen all the making of extras, so I understand why they didn't do it, ut it would have been amazing to see Merry, and Pippin take command.

Well we won't spoil the book for you but it is a good ending. I loved sarumans death in the movie, because it was kind of simliar to what happens in the book.

I could understand why PJ put his death in the film that way, as it made a quick ending [since they couldn't do Scouring of the Shire] and it tied up a few loose ends.
However, I was quite disappointed by the whole ordeal. I mean, come on, Grima stabs him and he falls on a spike! It would have been better if there had been a battle between the wizards or something...
Anyway, I think PJ was trying to make the whole death ironic with Saruman dying upon his own machinery.

Well, it would make the movie too long. Plus, EVERYONE I've seen it with said, "there were too many endings." I mean, 1. destroy the ring, 2. Aragorn'sking, 3. Leave for the Havens. For some people that's just too much.
I think the endings they put in the movie fit nicely and worked just right. Also, if they postponed Saruman's death by having him run around freely during the main battle, people would be like, "what? where'd he go?" After all, this was the main villian of TTT. It would be tough on some people to believe he just disappeared. This keeps you from focusing on the MAIN part of the story. Then if you have to go back to Hobbiton and have another story there...the climax has already come and gone, and the main problem has been solved. I think it was wise to just let it be.

On how Saruman died, I think it was fitting. A huge wizard battle would NOT have fit, not to mention the un-Tolkein-ness of it. I think Grima stabbing Saruman was very believable, and it was ironic to have Saruman die by his own craft. I sure don't feel sorry for him. Remember how many people he killed?

It was so...I was like O_o when I saw it. I could remember saying, "That gotta hurt..." My sister covers her eyes every time for that part now. *shudder*
