I'm not sure if this is the right category to stick this in, but this is my best guess. OK, all three movies are out. Some of our favorite characters from the book didn't make it into them. Do you have a character that you know would be portrayed perfectly in the movie if they made it in there?

For instance Arnold Schwarzenegger would have made a perfect Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth--or something like that.

Or if you think one of the characters that are already in the movie would have been better if played by another actor. (Personally, I think they've already done the best casting possible. Just wondering...)

It would have been interesting to see whom they could have casted for Tom Bombadil. He's such a unique character that I think it would have been nearly impossible to find the right person. It would have come across as to serious or to silly and mediocre.
Glorfindel would have been another character I wished to see. I don't think he would have been as hard to cast. You just needed someone well built, and able to have an ethereal Elvish quality.
Sorry I couldn't come up with any actors names, I guess I'll never be cut out to be a casting director.

I'd love to have seen Prince Imrahil, but personally I can't see Arnold Schwarzenegger playing him.

I know. I got that from the Director's Commentary on TRotK EE. PJ thinks it would have been fun to hear him go "I am Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth" 'cuz that's fun to say.

Halbarad of the Dunadain would be played well by Christain Bale, I think. I always say him as cool and wise and a little handsome. ;)

I like the idea of Brad Pitt as Glorfindel. I know it sounds strange, but if you've got a good imagination he fits.

Princess of Ithillien, Um I realy, realy would have liked to have seen somebody as Thranduil . I was so dissappointed that he wasn't in the movies. If I was to have picked who would have played Thranduil I probably would have picked Jeffrey Meek or... Johnny Depp :hide: I know that they both would have needed alot of work done in the hair and make-up department and Jeffrey is just getting started in acting but they are both wonderful actors and I think that they would have done well. I know...I've totally lost my mind. ;)
I totally agree that they allready did the best casting that was possable for the characters that they had. :-D

I'm not sure if Miranda Otto was so very well casted as Eowyn...
She looks too old... Eowyn is supposed to be 24, Miranda looks like she is 35 at least!

*Just Googled*
Miranda is now 39 years old, so I wasn't really far off...

if we were aided by the use of a time machine, audrey hepburn as arwen and grace kelly as galadriel would be good - they are meant to be the most beautiful women in middle-earth, after all. oo oo, and lauren bacall (obv when she was young) as eowyn - she's got the right strength.

What about King Dain Ironfoot?
Which actor do you think would be the best choice for this role?

Sorry but I beg to differ. I think Miranda is perfect. She really portayed Eowyn well, as well as looking perfect for the part. She gives us the idea that Eowyn is young, but has had to fave so much in life, that she is older then she really is. Besides the fact that the rohirram are horse people, who obviously spend alot of time outside, and posibly wandering around(as seen wiht Eomer) so that would also have given her an older look.

She's 24!?!?!?!?! Then Faramir and Sam are more than 10 years older than she is! I didn't know that...

EDIT: Just looked it up. Oh.

Robin Williams would have made a good tom Bombadil. I wish they would have added Beregond and Bergil!
