Yes Lotr is very inspiring especially that scene. Sam is definetely a hero and is as true a friend as anyone could ever want.

It's a great scene!! Sam is such a brave hobbit, he'll go anywhere for 'mr. Frodo'.. It shows a lot about real friendship.. I almost cried at that scene, and i don't crie fast about movies.. :P

I believe that the soundtrack always adds to the sadness, it's truly beautiful :)

I agree. Sam is so loyal to Frodo, and this scene made me cry!!!!!!!!

The soundtrack is very awesome too.

And we come to end of days
In the dark I hear a call
Calling me there
I will go there
And Back again

Soo true! This has ever been my favourite scene.
I remember not having seen the third movie, but watching this scene as a little clip from some website. I hadn't finished the book then, I had no idea what was going on, but I was sitting on my computer and just crying, crying for about ten minutes. It touched me so deeply. :'(

I just watched RotK again and the scene made me choke up! I don't know why.. but when Sam picks up Frodo and carries him on his back although he can hardly walk another step... it's just.. first of all very moving... and secondly, I feel some strange relation to Sam in that scene (and Sam has never been among my favorite characters). I don't think I would do well in sword fighting or killing orcs with multiple arrows like the rest of the Fellowship, and I wouldn't be the one to carry the One Ring either... I think in that moment I would do what Sam does and carry my best friend up that bloody mountain. Of course I don't know if I could ever accomplish what Sam does, but I think this is the closest to what could contribute to a Fellowship! Stay by my friend's side when he needed me the most, be peservering and refuse to give up.
