I think that this was good in some ways because it brought us to the realisation that the trilogy of the time of the ring was finally over, but on the other hand, i believe that there will be no end to Middle-Earth and definatley no end to Frodo as he sailed into Valior so there is an argument for saying it was not necessary. What do you lot think?

I'd love to hear more about what the elves do once they get there. I think we all would.

Read The Silmarillion to find out what Valinor is like - it's all in depth there, and that's where the Elves go after they leave the Halls of Mandos (after they die). So they actually will go to Valinor either by death or by sailing there by ship. I think I'd rather sail there, honestly....^_^

There aren't any more tales of Frodo and Gandalf and all them on Valinor after RotK, unfortunately, unless Tolkien wrote one in secret and never told anyone, and nobody's found it...

The first time i saw the movies, all the black kept coming on, so i thought that it was gonna stop at Frodo and Sam on Mt. Doom and just leave it because the black was there so long! :) hehehe but then it went to Gandalf and stuff. it kinna freaked me out the first couple times.
the ending was so sad! i felt so bad for sam pippin 'n merry! they were so sad when frodo had to leave! and GANDALF!

It's probably a long ship-ride, but it would be very esxciting to know that your sailing to the Undying Lands!

So in Valinor, you become alive again even if you are dead?

Do you stay the same age when in Valinor, because you are Immortal, well not the same age, but do you look the same?

I think all the Hobbits should have had a place reserved, especially Sam. I think Legolas and Gimli should have too.

I never really thought of 'The End' as the end of Middle-Earth, the end of Frodo going to Valinor.

Now if they rolled 'The End' after we saw the the ship sail off into the sunlight, I would've probably gotten that kind of idea but since they added that Sam scene with his family I didn't see it as an end. It was the end to the new beginning.
