But that doesn't really have anything to do with speed, just the skill of the commander, so overall, there's no real reason why Legolas would be more concerned about Erebor. Afterall, Dol Guldur is closer to Mirkwood than to Erebor...Legolas had no way of knowing that Sauron had an army of Easterlings to attack Erebor. For all he knew, the only enemies ahd to go through Mirkwood to get to Erebor. I think he'd be far more concerned about Mirkwood.
