lol I love it at the end of ROTK when Sam and Rosie get married and Pippin Catches the flowers. He looks at the female hobbit and gesticulates a sort of hmm...you don't look too bad thing to her! It's just sooo cute!
Does anyone actually know if Pippin got married to her, and if that Hobbit was supposed to represent a book character?, I myself i am ashamed to say have not gotten around to reading the books yet. I have read half of the Hobbit and up to a Shadow of the Past in FOTR i just haven't had the time to read latley.
Or is it just for fun? Whatever it is it's cute!

I thought that it was a lovely touch, although I'm not sure if the hobbit he is grinning at is meant to represent his future bride.
Pippin did go on to get married, to Diamond of Long Cleeve, although this was some years after Sam married. It would be nice to think though that maybe the hobbit beside him was Diamond.
If it makes you feel better it took me over a year to get though the whole trilogy - just trying to fit reading it in when I had some time. Hang on in there though, it is worth it!

yea, i thought that part was cute and it could or couldnot be Diamond but either way its slightly funny. after crying so much i laughed easy at anything cute and hobbit like- like when the hobbits pass by nodding to this older hobbit. and dont worry about not finishing yet. the books are kinda long adn drag a lil bit especially if ure really busy.

I'm reading Great Expectations for English.
I was thrilled that the main character's name is Pip! He falls in love w/ a girl called Estella but I can't read it without thinking NO! Merry's the one who marries Estella Bolger!

*shudders* I read a short version of Great Expections and thought it was the weirdest book in the world (after Paris in the 20th Century by Jules Verne and The Black Stallion Legend). But I did keep thinking about Pippin... Almost called him that once by accident!

I think he does get married and have kids I don't remember, I read the books about two years ago.
and I thought the scene of Pip catching the flowers and the glance him and the girl next to him share was a cute touch

http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/ this is a good site in which you can find the entire biography of most characters of LOTR without having to read the appendix of the books

Aww, that would be really sweet! I didn't think of that until y'all mentioned it.
As for the Great Expectations thing... *shudders at thought* I. Don't. Like. That. Book. At. All. I hadn't made the connection to the hobbits from it though, haha! Perhaps I'll find myself calling Pip "Pippin" on accident as well. (I certainly hope Merry's Estella was MUCH nicer than GE's Estella...)
